We would like to thank the community for coming together with all of the tips about the burglary that occured at Helping Hands. We have identified the suspects and are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants for the two suspects. At this time we do not feel these suspects are involved in the other theft and burglaries so please continue to lock your vehicles, homes, and garages and continue to call in suspicious people in your area. Again, a huge thank you to the community coming together and working with us to help deter crime.

If you weren't able to make our monthly neighborhood watch meeting 25 News did a short story.

[VIDEO] Thanks to 25 News for the story about our body cameras and our Community Partnership Camera Program. Head over to www.chillicothepd.org/cctv to learn more.

#pressrelease The Chillicothe Police Department is excited to announce that we will begin using body cameras on Friday, October 5th. The Chillicothe Police Department was able to obtain a grant which covered the cost of the body cameras. We are also excited to announce that we will be implementing our new Community Partnership Camera Program. This program will allow the residents and businesses of Chillicothe to register locations and capabilities of their outdoor security camera systems with the Chillicothe Police Department. Using this information, when a crime occurs, the Chillicothe Police Department will know the locations of nearby cameras and be able to collect video evidence and follow up on leads. You can learn more about or camera program by going to our website at www.chillicothepd.org/cctv

There has been another rash of vehicle burglaries and thefts in our city. Please make sure your things are put away and locked. Lets make it as difficult as possible for these individuals while we work on catching them. Some of these items include ATVs. Make sure your ATV is secured in a way it cannot be stolen. If you have any ideas on who is committing these crimes please call 309.274.2129 , message us, or use our crime tip page at chillicothepd.org/crimetips You can also attend our monthly Neighborhood Watch meeting. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month 630pm at City Hall. The next meeting will be Oct. 9th We also ask you to call us when you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
