East St. Louis man charged with Felony Theft. On October 03, 2018, Officers were called to the 1600 Block of Belmont reference a Theft from residence. Upon arrival the officers met with the owner of the residence. The owner stated he was on his way home from work when he observed a male subject with a moving dolly in the middle of the road. As he went around the male subject in the roadway he observed that objects on the moving dolly was from inside his residence. Officers were able to locate and arrest the subject. Officers observed that the owners house had been entered without approval of the owner and objects were sitting outside the residence. On October 05, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Frederick V. McWherter, 52, with one count of Theft-subsequent. Class 4 Felony. Bond was set at $20,000.00.

East St. Louis man charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Restraint. On October 22, 2018, Officers were informed by a female she returned home from work at her residence in the 1600 Block of Cleveland. The female stated that her boyfriend had put his hand on her throat and hit her with a closed fist ten times. It was later learned that the female had a fracture in her left facial area. On October 24, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Jacob D. Hartley, 28, with One count of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Class 2 Felony, and One count of Unlawful Restraint. Class 4 Felony. Bond was set at $200,000.00.

East St. Louis man charged with Unlawful Possession of Stolen Vehicle. On September 29, 2018, East St. Louis Police tried to stop a vehicle in the 2500 Block of Louisianna. The driver of the vehicle attempted to drive through a parking lot in an attempt to flee from officers. The vehicle ran into a parked vehicle on the parking lot and came to a stop. The driver attempted to run from the vehicle but was ultimately placed into custody by officers.. It was later found that the vehicle was stolen. On October 29, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Demario L. Brandy, 35, with one count of Unlawful Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle. Class 2 Felony. Bond was set at $60,000.00.

On October 22, 2018, U.S.Marshal service along with Illinois State Police and East St. Louis Police conducted a Sex Offender Compliance check in East St. Louis and surrounding communities. Officers met with a male subject who had not registered with the State of Illinois as required in the last several years. The male was taken into custody. On October 23, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Nathaniel R. Bingham III, 36, with one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Class 3 Felony. Bond was set at $60,000.00.

In February 2017, a female stated that her son's father attempted to get into her vehicle but the doors were locked. The female stated that she was sitting at a stop light while he attempted to open the door. The female stated that she drove away from the light and the male subject threw a concrete block through the back window striking her son in the face causing injuries. Upon arrival officers were informed by a female that a Black Male with dreadlocks pointed a weapon at her daughter and then pointed the weapon at her and threatened to kill her. The female stated the male subject observed the police vehicle coming and threw the gun under a vehicle. Officers observed the male subject and placed him into custody. On October 05, 2018, The St,. On September 29, 2018, Officers were met by a female at the police station who stated that her husband had beat, choked, and hit her in the head with a gun. Officers observed the male subject in a vehicle with his son in the 2600 Block of Lincoln. Officers had the male subject exit the vehicle and observed two weapons inside of the vehicle. The male subject along with his son were then taken into custody. On October 01, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Antonio K. On September 17, 2018, Officers were called to A & S Market located at 10th and State. Officers were met by a male subject who stated that he had a disagreement with another male subject inside the store. The male said when he walked out of the store he was maced by the other males girlfriend. The other male then pulled out a gun and shot at the male subject. On September 27, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged George Gully III, 36, with One count of Aggravated Battery/Public place, Class 3 Felony. Belleville man charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis On September 21, 2018, East St. Louis Police officers observed a vehicle driving reckless in the 2500 Block of Caseyville. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 2900 Block of Natalie. Officers were able to observe a large container with suspected cannabis in plain view in the vehicle. On September 15, 2018, East St. Louis Officers were called to the Gold Star Liquor store located at 936 Broadway reference loitering. Officers arrived and walked past a vehicle on the lot. Officers could smell burning cannabis coming from the vehicle. Officers observed narcotics and weapons in plain view in the occupied vehicle. A female and male were both taken into custody. Washington Park man charged with Criminal Sexual Assault On January 31, 2018, East St. Louis Police were called to the 1900 Block of College reference a Sexual Assault report. Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim. The female stated that she had met a male subject at a local park to talk. While talking with the male he knocked her down and sexually assaulted her. Cahokia man charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon. On September 13, 2018, East St. Louis officers observed a male subject walking in the 600 Block of St. Louis Av. Officers observed that the subject had a Semi Automatic handgun in his waistband. Officers approached the male subject to check to see if he had proper authorization for carrying the weapon. Officers were informed the male had his Illinois FOID card revoked and was not allowed to have a weapon. The male subject was then taken into custody. Belleville man charged with Possession of Controlled Substance/ Domestic Battery On July 10, 2018, East St. Louis Police were called to the John DeShields Housing Complex reference a Domestic Battery. Upon arrival officers observed a female run from the apartment stating her boyfriend had beat her. Officers were able to take the male subject into custody. Officers observed cannabis and suspected cocaine in plain view in the male subjects vehicle which was parked outside of the apartment. The suspected narcotics were taken into evidence. On September 13, 2018, The States Attorney's office charged Darnell L. Sims, 30, with one count of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Class 4 Felony, and one count of Domestic Battery, Class A Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $30,000.00.

Belleville man charged with Residential Burglary/Unlawful Possession of Firearm by felon. On May 16, 2018, a home was burglarized in the 700 block of North 71st. During the burglary a rifle was taken from the residence by a suspect. The suspect was observed on a home video security system and was known to the owner of the residence. On September 08, 2018, East St. Louis police observed the suspect in the 2300 block of State Street and placed him into custody. On September 10, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged Robert E. Officers were informed that two workers at the store where out on the parking lot shooting semi automatic handguns into the air. Officers observed several shell casings on the parking lot and recovered two weapons from the scene. On August 30, 2018, The St. Clair County States Attorney's office charged: Derrick D. Crumble, 26, of East St. Louis with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by Felon, Class 3 Felony, and one count of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. Class 4 Felony.
