It’s that time again! Pawnee Police Department will be accepting Toys for Toys for Tots. Toys will have to be new and unwrapped and can be for any ages. We will have a Collection Box at the Police Department. If you are unable to deliver to the Station you can call 217-625-2341 and we will pick the Toys up (Pawnee residents only). We will be accepting Toys till December 14. Thank you in advance.

A family member pass this on to me , just good information to know ! Fraud Alert with ATT. Yesterday I received a call from my own phone number and they stated my account had been flagged and to press 1 to be connected to the fraud dept. I did so and had a real conversation with someone. He sent me an ATT Link and I looged in. Received a PIN from them and read the pin to the very nice gentalmen. He said he fixed the account and there would be no break in service. This was a 2 pm. My 5 pm I had two phones ordered under my account and $2000 worth of charges. I spoke to Fraud today and said they will never call me from my own number. So if you get anything like this, please don't fall for it. Explain you will call ATT yourself and verify. I have also gotten calls from IRS that they are going to arrest me luckily they left a message.

In full disclosure this was not our original idea or program. This is something Retired Captain James Wolf with Illinois State Police started 10 years ago in District 9. He was telling us about the program so we thought we would give it a try... Parental Notification Program We are starting a “trial” program in which we notify the parents of teens, under 18, that their child/children were passengers in a vehicle that had been stopped for certain offenses. The “Parental Notification Program” will simply notify the parents that their child was in a vehicle stopped. It will not identify the driver or other passengers but will tell them a date, time, reason and location of the stop. If we make a traffic stop for selected violations and the driver is under 18 with passengers, we will collect the name, date of birth and address of the passengers (parents name too). We will then send out a letter notifying the parents about the stop. Selected violations could include reckless driving, distracted driving, drug or alcohol violations, speeding above a predetermined limit or violations of the GDL law.
