The Shelbyville Police Department is investigating four residential burglaries that occurred in the late night hours of June 18th. Chief Dave Tallman said, what is of particular concern about these burglaries, is that in all these cases the residents were at home during the burglaries. This type of burglary, given the right circumstances, can create a dangerous situation. We have also had several vehicle burglaries. Some were related to the residential burglaries and some were not. Chief Tallman urges all Shelbyville residents to keep their houses garages and out-building locked at all times. Chief Tallman also said that it is important to remove valuable items from your vehicle and keep it locked when it is not attended.
