**Please Share** 18-00768 The Morton Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the pictured individual. On 08/19/18 he did a push out at Walmart, 155 E. Courtland. Taken was several high dollar Star Wars Lego sets and a personal computer. He left the area in a late model silver Ford Escape with an Illinois license plate. Individuals with information can contact the police department at 309-266-6666 and ask for somone in the Investigation's Division. All tips will remain anonymous.
The Morton Police Department received information from local social media pages about these signs that have been posted around town. After investigating the posters, the police department discovered that they were linked to a sales company that was registered with the police department to conduct door to door sales for a Peoria based newspaper company. They are no longer registered with the police department or working in the area and the signs have been taken down. The posters were not linked to any kind of criminal behavior.
NOTICE: This afternoon, credit card skimmers were found inside the gas pumps at the Circle K on Main and at the Circle K on Jackson in Morton. These skimmers were not visible from the outside of the pump and someone using the pump would not know their information was being stolen. It is also unknown how long the devices have been inside the pumps. If you have used your credit card or debit card to pay at the pump, at any of the gas stations in Morton, we recommend that you obtain a new credit / debit card from your financial institution or monitor the transactions that are posted to your account.

**Police Officer Application and Testing Process** The Morton Police and Fire Commission will be conducting testing for the entry level position of police officer. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, possess a valid driver's license, and possess a high school diploma or the equivalent. Additional minimum requirements may also be imposed. Unless otherwise provided by Illinois statute, all applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 35 as of August 8, 2018. The current base salary range for police officer is $50,873 to $67,408. The department also offers a competitive benefit and retirement package. A written and physical test will be conducted on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. at the Morton High School located at 350 N. Illinois in Morton, IL. The annual bicycle rodeo will be held on April 28th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the parking lot across from Jefferson School. K-6th grade students are encourage to come out and compete for prizes! We would like to remind all residents of the Village, that parking along snow routes is prohibited, after 2 " or more of snow. *Please Share* *Special Attention Thornridge and Hyde Park Subdivisions* The police department has received numerous reports of vehicle burglaries in these areas since Monday morning. Several of the items taken in these burglaries have been recovered by the Washington Police Department. However, there is still a large amount of property that was recovered and does not have an identifiable owner. If you, or someone you know, lives in this area please check your vehicles and contact 309-266-6666 to make a report of any stolen property. And as always, please remain vigilant in reporting suspicious activity and lock up all of your belongings.
