***ROBBERY, DANILLE POLICE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP*** “Danville Police are seeking information from the resident who had contact with a male / black individual early Wednesday morning between midnight and 2 am and provided him with clothing. Danville Police believe this individual may have been involved in the Burger King Robbery. He was on foot in the area of Burger King when the police arrived and fled into the woods to the north towards the Heritage Trace Subdivision. He had been on foot when police believe he approached a residence and knocked on the door asking for warmer clothing. The suspect is dropped off nearby. The suspect then walks up to the residence and opens the package left behind. The suspect will then either leave the package behind or steal the contents. 11/2/2016 - ARMED ROBBERY DANVILLE - On Wednesday evening at approx. 11:40 pm, the Popeyes restaurant on north Vermilion was robbed again. *******SCAM ALERT******* The Danville Police Department has received several calls for service within the past week where people have received calls advising that a relative has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. In one incident, the suspect’s phone was using cellular towers in Puerto Rico. The suspect will ask the victim to purchase phone cards and/or money orders to submit as ransom. The caller will make reference to a specific location in Danville in order to make the scenario more believable. If you receive a suspicious call advising that a relative has been kidnapped, contact local law enforcement immediately.
