Albany Police Department News

Chocolate Lab found in town.

Nate Schroeder was dedicated in service to the citizens of the town in which he was raised. He worked hard on every project and was available to us twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

A friendly reminder from your friends at the Albany Fire Protection District.

No words can describe how our community is feeling upon suffering the tragic loss of our Public Works Director Nate Schroeder. If you would open a dictionary and look up the words: caring, compassionate, dedicated, hard working, and loyal, by each of these descriptive words you would see a picture of Nate. Just as he did, so many times from the bucket truck, he is looking down over us as a community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nate's loved ones and he will forever be in our hearts.

We had a wonderful time at the Exelon Safety Day this past Saturday.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Another successful Trick or Treat in the books!

Congratulations Officer Dallas, well deserved!

Continue to lift our Honorary Police Officer Jeg Weets up in your prayers!

Unfortunately we have had an influx of people dumping illegal items in our dumpsters this Summer (i.e., this dishwasher). With that being said, the dumpster at our Water Treatment Plant will now be locked and off limits to our citizens. We apologize to the ones who followed the rules, however this issue has been creating more task for our public works department to complete. We appreciate your understanding with this matter.

Happy Birthday to the Village Treasurer Angie Ryder!

With the influx of Mosquitoes, Frank's Flying Service will be spraying tomorrow night! Sincere thanks to the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees for seeing the need for this and addressing the issue.

Chief Heyvaert, Sergeant Kernan, and Detective Bogart attended Risk Management Training at the Rockford Illinois Police Department. The class was presented by Attorney Dale Anderson and was brought to area departments by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. Pictured: Sergeant Kernan and Detective Bogart taking notes during the presentation.

We must never forget the lives that were lost that day. Rest in peace
