***UPDATE*** Utilizing a TruNarc Handheld Narcotics Analyzer, detectives have determined that the suspected drug-laced candy hearts, are nothing but sugary candy. There is no reason to believe anyone who received these candies is in any danger. However, it is always recommended that you do not eat candy that is not in its original packaging.

There is a rumor going around facebook tonight that an individual turned in candy hearts they believed to be laced with an unknown drug into the Braidwood Police Department and that these drugs tested positive to be roofies. While an individual did turn in a small baggy containing candy hearts theyvhave not tested positive or been identified at this time. The candy hearts will be sent for further testing to determine the type of drug, if any, the candy hearts are laced with.

Officer from New South Wales Police Department located in Braidwood, New South Wales, Australia stopped at the Braidwood, IL Police Department. He and several other officers and firemen where driving across the US on motorcycles from Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois on scenic Rt. 66. They stopped to say hi and return the visit from when former mayor Wayne Saltzman of Braidwood, IL visited several years ago.
