2nd Annual PPD Shop With A Cop Basketball Tourney Join us at Plainfield East High School tonight, tomorrow (or both) for some outstanding Middle School Basketball...and support a great cause. PEHS Main Gym Friday - 6 pm Saturday - 9 am JFK Middle School holds the travelling trophy...will one of the other schools take it from them? Come out and see!!! Proceeds benefit the PPD Shop With A Cop Program. For the 11th year, the PPD is partnering with Plainfield School District 202, Oswego School District 308, Target Corp., and the Plainfield Junior Women's Club to brighten the holidays of several deserving students and families. To date, we have had 340 students participate in Shop With A Cop, with the need growing each year. The SWAC program is, and always has been, 100% funded through the fundraising efforts of the PPD, our partners and by generous donations from the public. Every dollar raised goes to the kids. On Saturday, October 27, from 10 am - 2 pm, the Police Department will be participating in the DEA's National Take Back Initiative. Patients and their families can dispose of unwanted medications at the Police Department,14300 S. Coil Plus Drive. Controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter substances will be collected. Our staff has enjoyed having the opportunity to grow facial hair this month in exchange for making a $30 donation to Special Olympics. A little over halfway through the month of October... The beards are still growing, but they sure can't hide these smiles!!

Hit and Run Investigation The PPD Traffic Unit is requesting assistance with the identification of the van involved in this hit and run crash. The crash occurred on Tuesday Oct. 16 at 4:15pm on Rt. 126 east of Rt. 59. If you can identify the owner or driver of the van, please call or email Ofc. Beards are starting to grow in! In this fundraising campaign alone, our officers have donated a total of $630.00!! This money goes directly towards Special Olympics. In order to participate, each officer gave $30 to grow facial hair for the month of October.
