ROCKFORD, IL. –On Friday, May 25, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m. officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to an apartment building in the 900 block of McKnight Circle for a gunshot complaint. Upon arrival officers spoke with neighbors who described hearing what was believed to be a single gunshot fired from inside an apartment. Officers went to the specified apartment and spoke to the resident, Daniel Gonzalez. Gonzalez told officers he was home alone and believed he heard a noise inside one of the apartment’s bedrooms. After hearing the noise, he fired once through the closed bedroom door. The Winnebago County States Attorney’s Office reviewed the incident and authorized the following charges. ARRESTED: Daniel Gonzalez 30-years-old Rockford CHARGES: Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Disorderly Conduct BOND: $ 5,000 10% applies The charges against Gonzalez are merely accusations and not evidence of guilt. On May 27, 2018 at 10:50 a.m. a female victim came to the District One Police Headquarters. She reported her ex-boyfriend, Zachery Laster, had shot at her while she was in the 1100 block of Blake St, Rockford, IL. She said the shooting just happened and she drove to the police station to report it. She was not injured and nothing appeared to have been struck by bullets. Rockford Police Patrol officers and detectives investigated the incident. The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and the following charges were authorized: ZACHERY LASTER B/M 28 years of age ROCKFORD RESIDENT UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON NO F.O.I.D RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM The Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Investigations Bureau (779-500-6551) or Crime Stoppers (815-963-7867). The charges against the suspect are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases he is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Over the last several weeks, Rockford Police SCOPE officers have been receiving complaints from concerned citizens regarding the sale of narcotics occurring in the 2000 block of South Fourth Street. As a result of these complaints, Rockford SCOPE officers conducted an investigation. On May 25th, 2018, shortly after 7 pm, Rockford SCOPE officers were on patrol in the 2000 block of South Fourth Street when they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. They identified the driver as 58-year-old Rockford resident, Rickey Pulliam. Investigation revealed that Pulliam was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine and cash. He was taken into custody. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office was contacted. They authorized charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine 10-30 grams and Failure to Signal. Pulliam was transported to the Winnebago County Jail and lodged. A photo is attached. This is an on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time. The charges against Pulliam are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

More than 60 kids participated in the 15th Annual Cops 2 Bobbers Fishing Derby at Rock Cut State Park yesterday!

On Tuesday, May 15th, 2018, shortly after 9:00 p.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 1200 block of North Rockton Avenue in reference to a domestic battery. When they arrive, officers met with an adult female victim who had been battered by the suspect, Kevon Dukes, whom she had a domestic relationship with. Dukes had fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result charges were authorized and warrants were obtained for Dukes on the listed charges. Dukes has yet to be arrested and is still at large. A photo of Dukes is attached. WANTED: Kevon Dukes 24-years-old Rockford, IL CHARGE: Domestic Battery BOND: $50,000 / 10% CHARGE: Harassment through Electronic Communication BOND: $75,000 / 10% The Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. On Saturday, May 19th, 2018, shortly before 3:00 a.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Ogilby Road in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, officers located the victim, a 25-year-old male, who had been shot in the head. The victim identified a family member as the individual who had shot him. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the shooting. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for the suspect, 29-year-old Calvin Graves, for the listed offenses. A photo of Graves is attached. The Rockford Police Department and the Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining information that would lead to the arrest of thirty-year-old Rockford resident, Romeo Trammell. Trammell is currently wanted on a parole violation warrant. He is described as a black male, 6’2”, 180 lbs., black hair, and brown eyes. A photo of Trammell is attached. He is on parole for a firearms offense. Anyone with information concerning Trammell’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department 815-966-2900 or CrimeStoppers 815-963-7867.

On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Rockford Police Department received information regarding the sexual assault of a juvenile at a residence in the 900 block of Sanford Avenue. Detectives from the Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the report. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for the suspect, Juan Meza. On Thursday, May 17, 2018 at about 4:30 p.m. officers and detectives from the Rockford Police Department located Meza and took him into custody without incident. Meza was later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond. A photo of Meza is attached. ARRESTED: Juan Meza 48-years-old Rockford, IL CHARGE: Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (victim under 13) BOND: $10,000 / 10% The charges against Juan Meza are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases he is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. Due to the victim’s age and the nature of the incident no further information is available at this time.
