This evening our department, took a report from a local resident that received a voicemail from someone claiming to be an Apple representative. The voicemail stated that Apple had received a pornographic email from the local residents account and needed to contact them immediately. The local resident called the number provided and gave their information. The representative proceeded to threaten the local resident with civil litigation and arrest if they did not purchase $720.00 worth of ITunes cards. The local resident purchased the cards, activated them and provided the card numbers to the alleged Apple representative to avoid arrest and civil litigation. This is a SCAM!!!!! Apple will not contact you and threaten you with civil litigation or arrest. If you receive a call of this nature, simply hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency.
