Thank you all for sharing! ### ### Stolen 4 Wheeler ### Ashley police are investigating the theft of a 4 wheeler that was taken from a shed at 209 E Depot St in Hudson on Friday night 10/26/2018. The thief broke into a locked shed. Taken was a yellow 2003 Honda Sportrax 250EX. The suspect is described by a witness as being a male standing approximately 5’11 and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask. If this sounds like somebody you know who recently acquired a new 4 wheeler, but you’re not sure how, or if you have any information please contact us at 260-587-9388 or by Facebook message. *** Breaking and Entering Complaint Leads to Felony Arrest *** On Friday night just before 11:00 P.M. Ashley officers were dispatched to the 400 building of the Chapel Lane Apartments for a report of an intoxicated male attempting to break into an apartment. Officers arrived on scene and observed a door had been completely broken off and was lying inside the apartment. The investigating officer developed probable cause to believe the suspect was Corey A Shibler, 31 of Ashley, IN. Mr. Shibler was quickly located exiting a different apartment. While attempting to place Mr. Shibler into custody he allegedly resisted the officer and a conducted energy weapon, a Phazzer Enforcer, was deployed. Mr. Shibler was then placed into custody. Mr. Shibler was arrested and charged with a level 6 felony Residential Entry, A misdemeanor Resisting Law Enforcement, and B misdemeanor Criminal Mischief. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. Assisting at the scene were the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office and Waterloo Marshal’s Department.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department has requested the activation of an AMBER Alert from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fort Wayne, Indiana is 125 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The victim, Mary Kryder, is a 1 year old biracial female, 3 feet 0 inches tall, 30 pounds, blonde hair, and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing teal shirt, and black sparkly pants. She was last seen Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is believed to be in extreme danger. The suspect, Ikeca Betzner, is a 27 year old biracial female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 133 pounds, brown curly hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jean jacket with gray sleeves and faded blue yoga pants. The suspect vehicle is a silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Indiana Autism Awareness plate DD6937. ### Update ## After nearly 300 shares and 12,000 views Mr. Dague turned himself in to authorities. Again, he is assumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Thank you all for sharing! ### Felony Arrest Warrant ### We are seeking the public's assistance in locating Kenneth A Dague, 31 of rural Stroh, Indiana, for a level 6 felony arrest warrant alleging residential entry. In July, 2018 officers were dispatched to an apartment on Chapel Lane for a breaking and entering complaint. Through the course of the investigation officers developed probable cause to believe the suspect was Mr. Dague. In August an arrest warrant was issued out of Dekalb County Superior Court 1 for Mr. Dague with a $2,000 bond authorized. He is known to drive a red Mazda RX8 with plate number 585BAI and is known to frequent the Stroh and Fort Wayne, Indiana areas. If you know his whereabouts contact your local authorities but do not approach. Mr. Dague is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. We thank you for your help.

### Felony OWI Arrest ### On Saturday night just before midnight Ashley officers observed a vehicle exit I 69 and cross completely left of center, before over correcting and running off the right side of the road. During a traffic stop on the vehicle officers observed an open alcohol container and the driver, Nathaniel A Armstrong 42 of Angola, displayed multiple clues of intoxication. During a subsequent investigation, Mr. Armstrong tested .168 on a certified breath test, over twice the legal limit of .08. It was also discovered that Mr. Armstrong was previously convicted of operating while intoxicated in 2014. As a result of the investigation, Mr. Armstrong was charged with operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction within five years, a level 6 felony, and operating with a blood alcohol level greater than .15, an A misdemeanor. Mr. Armstrong is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. We are committed to keeping the roads safe for everybody.

The mother fled the residence and went to a gas station to call 911. The father Fernando Mendoza Cruz, 5-19-81 fled with the children, 2 yr old - Aldo Cruz 7-27-16, wearing a Blue T-shirt and a diaper, 4 yr old- Matteo Nieves, 2-14-14 wearing red shorts and blue T-shirt, 5 yr old- Chelsey Lopez, 2-5-13 wearing a pink T-shirt and blue pajamas pants. Look who’s back at it! K-9 Korde has been off work for just about five months after having surgery but was cleared to return to duty this morning. A huge thank you to the Auburn hills animal hospital for all that they have done and continue to do to keep her healthy and on the job!

### New Deputy Marshal ### We would like to announce the hiring of Jesse Torrey as a full time Deputy Marshal. Jesse comes to us from the Hamilton Police Department where he has been since 2011. He most recently served as their detective. Jesse started as a reserve deputy with the Ashley Police Department in 2008 and moved to part time status in 2011. We are pleased to welcome his decade of experience on full time. Please welcome him when you see him! He will initially be assigned to second shift.

### Tip Leads to OWI Arrest ### On Sunday night just before 8 pm Ashley officers located a vehicle that a concerned citizen reported had been driving erratically earlier in the evening. Officers stopped the vehicle on E Morgan St for an expired registration and immediately observed an open beer can in the car and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. The driver, Cody R Letner 25 of Hamilton, Indiana, tested .300 on a portable breath test which is nearly four times the legal limit. After further investigation officers were granted a search warrant to have Mr. Letner’s blood drawn for testing. He was subsequently arrested for operating while intoxicated. We are committed to keeping our roads safe for all and encourage you to keep reporting impaired or dangerous drivers. Mr. Letner is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a TORNADO WATCH for all of Steuben and Dekalb Counties until 6:00 P.M. this evening. Please continue to be weather aware and stay tuned to social media for any updates.

The St. Joseph County Police Department has requested the activation of an Amber Alert from South Bend. The victim, John D. Gyuriak, is an 9 year old white male, 4 feet 1 inches tall, 70 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, and has a scar above his right eye. He was last seen wearing a red Chicago Bulls jersey with “Rose #1” on the back and black Under Armor athletic shorts with a white stripe. He was last seen Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 pm in South Bend, Indiana and is believed to be in extreme danger. The suspect, Areca Nicole Gyuriak, is an 29 year old white female, 5 feet 0 inches tall, 90 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. The suspect vehicle is a tan 2008 Charger. It is that time of year again. The Town of Ashley does permit the use of fireworks, but only small consumer fireworks not mortars containing more the 130 mg of explosive composition, or professional type fireworks. There are also dates, and times that consumer fireworks can be used. We want you to celebrate the holidays, and have fun, but please follow the rules, and be courteous to your neighbors to avoid a visit from the police, and a possible fine for violating our fireworks ordinance. ### Warrant Arrest ### On Wednesday morning just after midnight Ashley officers observed a male who was known to be wanted at a business in the 100 block of E State St. Before officers made contact with the suspect he left the parking lot in a truck and turned south onto I 69. During a subsequent traffic stop the male, Nicholas Garr 40 of Fremont, was arrested for three failure to appear warrants alleging Level 4 felony dealing methamphetamine between 1 and 5 grams, Level 5 felony dealing methamphetamine, and Level 6 felony battery with moderate bodily injury. Mr. Garr is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Officers were assisted by the Waterloo Marshal's Department.

### Update on Structure Fire ### Thursday morning at approximately 2 A.M. Ashley officers were dispatched to a residential alarm in the 200 block of Hardy St in Hudson. Upon arrival officers found heavy smoke coming from the house. Both Hudson and Ashley Fire Departments were immediately dispatched to the scene and began attacking the fire in the garage and attic areas. The house was known to be vacant however there was a recent break in attempt. The fire is considered suspicious in nature at this time and will be investigated further by the Indiana Fire Marshal's Office. Assisting departments include the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, Steuben County EMS, Steuben County Communications, Salem Fire Department, Angola Fire Department, Steuben Township Fire Department, Waterloo Fire Department, Corunna Fire Department, Hamilton Fire Department and Fremont Fire Department. ### Structure Fire ### Officers are on scene a structure fire in the 200 block of Hardy St in Hudson with Hudson and Ashley Fire Departments. Avoid the area if possible.
