**Update to incident at 1370 Evergreen Rd.** At approximately 6:00 P.M. Huntington Police Detectives and Officers arrested Cristian N. Shepperd at his Byron St. residence. Shepperd was transported to the Huntington County Jail without incident. At this time Shepperd is being held on charges of 1) Attempted Robbery a Level 3 Felony and 2) Battery with a deadly weapon a Level 5 Felony. The victim has been upgraded to stable condition and his name will not be released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 7:00 P.M. Officers responded to Evergreen Park located at 1370 Evergreen Rd. in regards to a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located 2 males in their mid 20's suffering from injuries. 1 male was airlifted from the scene to Parkview Regional Medical Center. The second male was taken to the Huntington Police Department Annex for further questioning. The Huntington Police Department was assised by Huntington County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police, Huntington County Prosecutor's Office, Huntington City Fire Department and Parkview Huntington Hospital.

No person within the corporate boundaries of the city shall use, ignite or discharge or permit to be used, ignited or discharged any type of consumer fireworks on any other day or time other than the following: (A) June 29, June 30, July 1, July 2, July 3, July 5, July 6, July 7, July 8, July 9, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and two hours after sunset; (B) July 4 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight; and (C) Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. on December 31 and 1:00 a.m. on January 1.

Today the Huntington Police Department swore in our 2 newest officers. Jordan Corral and Reece Lefever. They will depart for 15 weeks at the academy in 12 days! We are looking forward to their addition with our department.
