The Gary K9 Association was honored to participate in the Hometown Heroes #4 this past Saturday. We did a K9 demonstration that entertained and informed the audience. We were also surprised with an award for starting our association after 10+ years to get K9s back on the street and everything we’ve accomplished since. Pete Dragojevic and his board chose to acknowledge our group for all the hard work we do and SFC Ruiz, from the Pentagon was so impressed learning about our Association, the Commander signed off on the request to have a flag/cert done. This flag flew over the Pentagon of our great nation and we are honored to have received this. Thanks for hosting this event and inviting us to participate in honoring all of our hometown heroes.

The Gary Police Department immediately began conducting an internal investigation reference the incident in our City where a citizen filmed officer's on a call for service.
