**UPDATE**. THE RAMP HAS BEEN REOPENED *TRAFFIC ALERT* THE NORTHBOUND RAMP FROM STATE ROAD 37, COMING FROM THE RIVER BRIDGE, IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO ICE AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF ACCIDENTS.

Congratulations Officer Gerkin for being nominated as Officer of the month for October. Officer Gerkin’s quick thinking help apprehend two individuals with active warrants and assisted in locating an individual with an active warrant on his day off.

The City of Bedford Trick or Treat times are 6-9PM on Halloween (10/31/18). We received several questions to our page regarding if the times would be rescheduled because of inclement weather and have since confirmed these times will not be rescheduled.

Update: The road is now open... Sandpit Road is currently closed from Pride Estates to Mitchell Road due to a 1 vehicle accident. Please find an alternate route. (There are no injuries)

Night shift found this male wondering the streets in the area of 25th Street and I Street. Anyone with information to assist in getting him home, please contact the Police Department at (812) 275-3311.

Officer Shelhart recently graduated from his 16 weeks of ILEA training where he earned special recognition for graduating with honors out of a class of 140 + Officers. That honor requires a 95% and above class room score and above average in physical assessment standards. Congratulations Officer Shelhart on Officer of the month for September.

Cassie Ratliff has been chosen by her peers as Dispatcher of the quarter. Congratulations on a well deserved honor.
