Southport PD posted a Facebook message that anyone who had a vehicle towed during the POTUS visit to Southport High School should contact HPD. HPD towed one vehicle on Friday and have already made contact with that owner. Other cars that were towed within town limits were done so by private citizens due to blocked driveways and property. Anyone with a towed vehicle should contact the Dispatch Non-Emergency #: (317) 327-3811.

Thank you all for coming out and visiting with us as we celebrate National Night Out! Sergeant Quinlin and his buddy Gage enjoyed the event and I hope you all did as well! If you have any photos from the event you would like to share, please send them to us. -HPD

HPD Rifle and Shotgun Qualifying Day

Come Visit with us for National Night Out on August 7th @ 1400 E. Tulip Drive

HPD was asked to pass this along. Tonight, folks will up and down Madison Ave. tying blue ribbons in support of Lt. Allan, his family, and in support of local law enforcement. There should be 4"x5" decals available in exchange for donations and possibly at National Night Out. The proceeds are to donated to the Family of Lt. Allan. While this is not technically an endorsement of HPD, it is an amazing gesture of how the community can reach out and try to do something positive for those impacted the most from the tragedy. I, for one, will be looking for one of these for my car.

RIP Southport Lt. Aaron Allan Law Enforcement never know when they may find themselves in danger. Sadly, Lt. Aaron Allan died a hero in trying to ensure the safety of his murderer after a horrific auto crash. Lt. Allan risked his life to try to ensure the safety of another and sadly that man chose to kill his hero that was coming to save him. RIP IMPD Deputy Chief Jim Waters The Greater Indianapolis Area lost a second member of Law Enforcement today. Deputy Chief Jim Waters succumbed to injuries today that were obtained from an auto crash this past weekend.

Our thoughts and prayers lay with the Dallas PD, The Citizens of Dallas, and the Nation as a whole tonight. It is easy to look past this and say, "This doesn't affect me; This isn't where I live," as we are disconnected from the situation at hand. However, the truth is, it could easily be your city, your neighborhood, your back yard. We must find a way to come together as a Nation, a State, a City, a Community. Love thy Neighbor...

National Police Week 2016 Sunday, May 15, 2016 through Saturday, May 21, 2016

HPD sent patches in for this project. If you are a member of another department (or have a loved one from another dept you can poke and prod into it) and your dept hasn't sent in patches yet, you might consider donating a couple patches for this great cause. https://www.facebook.com/Patches4Buckley/
