On 10-24-18 at approximately 2:46 AM HPD Officers Wayne Loudy, Luke Smith and Cambridge City Officer Aaron Crawford arrested David Joiner of Richmond. HPD Officers assisted the Randolph County Sheriffs Department who were in pursuit of Joiner on State Road 1 after refusing to stop for a traffic violation . Randolph County Deputy turned over the pursuit to HPD Officers at State Road 1 and US 40. The pursuit ended in Connersville with the assistance from Connersville PD Officers who deployed stop sticks which deflated all 4 tires on the suspect vehicle. HPD vehicles sustained damage due to being rammed by the suspect vehicle. David Joiner was transported to Reid Hospital then the Wayne County Jail and incarcerated for the below listed charges. Resisting Law Enforcement (vehicle): Level 6 Felony Resisting Law Enforcement: A-Misdemeanor Reckless Driving: B-Misdemeanor Habitual Traffic Violator: Level 6 Felony Operating While Intoxicated: Level 6 Felony Operating While Intoxicated: A-Misdemeanor Operating While Intoxicated: C-Misdemeanor Possession of Paraphernalia: A-Misdemeanor

HPD range day !!

HPD is investigating several Criminal Mischief to vehicles that occurred in the last 2 weeks.during the evening and early morning hours. HPD is also investigating Criminal Mischief to the bathrooms at the Optimist park (soccer field) in which the toilets were completely destroyed. If anyone observes suspicious subjects walking in town in the late evening or early morning hours please call (765) 489-4711 and report the activity. Any information given to HPD would be greatly appreciated !!
