It is November and time again for the Andover Police Department’s "Beards for Bucks!" During the next 30-days, you will see a number of our officers looking a little hairier that usual, as they participate in the Department’s annual “Beards for Bucks” fund raiser. Department staff members will donate $30 each in order to grow a goatee or beard over the next 30-days. All of the funds raised this year will be donated to “Mason's Miracle.” Mason is an amazing 6-year old local Andover kid and a special friend of the Andover Police Department who has an aggressive, stage 4 cancer called Neuroblastoma. Mason recently had an 11-hour surgery in New York City and is now home recovering, but is facing 18-months of chemo treatments. With Mason’s medical expenses, a brand new baby sister, and all of the travel back and forth to New York and Kansas City, the family should not need to worry about money. Please help us help one of our own community members. If YOU would like to help our officers raise money for “Mason’s Miracle” feel free to mail or drop off a check, or cash at the Andover Police Department, in care of “Mason’s Miracle” and we will make sure it is included in the department’s donation to the family at the end of November.

Beginning today, small sections of Andover Road and Central will be restricted. This will be moving daily as cleanup around water utility valves will be taking place. This work is limited to the areas resurfaced a few months ago. This involves removing some section asphalt around water valves and placing concrete. This will require overnight curing of the concrete before it can be opened up to traffic. Please feel free to contact us if have any questions.
