The 10-33 Foundation will be teaching a SAMM (Stress Awareness Management & Mitigation) class for both 1st Responders as well as Spouses of 1st Responders (on seperate evenings)! The class will specifically focus on Stress: Pre-incident Training, Identification, Sources, Signs and Symptoms, Reducation, Post-intervention, as well as Coping Strategies and Resources. These classes are FREE thanks to a grant our foundation has received through the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. The 10-33 Foundation, founded by Jim Wilson-1st Responder, is now made up Fire, Law Enforcement, Dispatch, and EMS. We provide Prevention Training, Intervention, and Post Intervention support for 1st Responders and their families. We are here to help equip you with real, practicle resources to encourage and maintain the well being of the 1st Responders and their Spouses within your Agencies. Please RSVP to Letitia Kennan (so we have enough food for supper both nights) 785-672-2684 . Supper is provided by Oakley Fire Department and Logan County EMS-Thank You!! Stephanie Leiker-Wright

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office after the loss of one of their own. Please pray for the deputy’s families, both blood and blue.

I know this is not the typical post you'd see on a law enforcement Facebook page, but our community lost a special woman this week. Dr. Kristy touched so many lives in Oakley, Logan County and surrounding areas. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts, prayers and our hearts go out to her family she left behind.

Wishing the Oakley Plainsmen good luck tonight as they take on Norton for homecoming. Go Plainsmen!

Just an FYI for those of you that have accounts through Oakley Farm & Home. When in doubt, it's always a good idea to call the business instead of replying to an email.

There have been a rash of burglaries in Northwest Kansas in the last couple of months. Please be extra vigilant about keeping your homes, vehicles and any other buildings locked. If you see any unfamiliar vehicles or people, please report it to your local law enforcement.

There are still people out there trying to scam anyone they can. Never give out any personal info, especially banking info, over the phone. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is!

Some of you may have seen this article on Facebook the last few days, this happened in Wakeeney, so not too far from home. As many other agencies have said, please take this opportunity to talk to your kids about strangers. Some of these people can be very clever and convincing as well as pushy. Help keep our kiddos safe!

Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in blue at the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office

This Memorial Day, we ask that you take a moment to pause and be thankful for all of the men and women who have served our country and those who are serving today. "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God such men lived." – George S. Patton
