Marysville Police Department News

From Chief Todd Ackerman The Marysville Police Department is participating in this years No-Shave November. This year's campaign will support programs at Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and my favorite the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Please join us in supporting these great organizations and let's make the 2018 No-Shave November campaign the best year yet! All officers you see will have to have made a donation through our department to be able to participate. Our donations will be going to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Well folks, our Officer's are approved to participate in No Shave November. Those that participate are donating money to St. Jude's. We would like to throw a challenge out there to all Marshall County Law Enforcement and let our facebook followers decide on a winner. Those fellow LEO's just need to contact Sgt. Ohlde and send your donation to him by noon Wednesday.

A apple Iphone was recovered at the Dargatz park restroom. If this is your property please come to the Marysville Police Department to identify it.

What is JUUL

More information on how teens are getting JUUL

This is a important read for all parents with children in our school district. We have had reports of JUUL in our school.

Recently Officer's have observed the driving public try to beat the yellow traffic signal at 10th and Center. Traffic stops have been made. We would like to urge everyone to remember to slow down, not speed up when the light changes. Of course this probably happens at other traffic lights in town. The concern is this happens before and after school when children are in the area. Please slow down. Keeping our children safe and you is more important than beating the yellow traffic light. Our officer's will continue to enforce traffic violations when they occur. As always if you have any traffic concerns please call 562-2343.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's department.

All first responders will be on Broadway for a 9/11 service at 9 am. The public is invited to attend. A moment of silence will be announced and carried on for 4 minutes. Thank you and keep in your thoughts those we lost on this day 17 years ago.

This is a important read for parents. Shared by Sgt. Dave Ohlde SRO.

Please stop for pedestrians wanting to cross in the crosswalk.

Please stop for pedestrians wanting to use the cross walks. Let's get our kids safely to and from school this year Marysville.

Today our officers were called to a local business parking lot to retrieve a bag with green leafy substance. If this is your bag of broccoli please come to the Marysville PD to claim it before supper.

This is the latest crime statistics released from KBI. It takes all of us working together to keep our community safe. You see it, hear it, report it. Call 562-2343 or 911 for emergencies.

School is back in session and as a reminder please be aware of pedestrians in the cross walks. If the kids are standing at the curb please stop and let them cross. Special concern is at 11th and Center (at Dollar general). Our officers are out but can't be everywhere. Thanks and let's have a safe school year Marysville.

We all had a great time last night with the kids back to school dance. Thank you to the PD wives for putting this event. The wives won but there is always next year. Thank you to John Price for providing his DJ services and the American Legion for hosting our event. All you kids rocked! Have a great school year.

This Thursday is our spouses second annual back to school dance for all 4-6 grades. This is a great fundraiser for scholarships. The officers are challenging their spouses to a lip sync battle. If you are in this age group come out and support us. The spouses beat us last time let's turn the tables on them. Starts at the Marysville American Legion at 6 pm.

So Sergeant Ohlde is trying to convince the Chief that we should maybe do a lip sync challenge. Sergeant Ohlde needs all of his area school kids to come up with a theme to try to sell to the Chief. Come up with a theme with songs and drop it off at the PD. If it is pick and the Chief says yes. You would be part of the video....shhhhh don't tell the Chief just yet.

North 8th Street is open. Thanks to Westar and Bluevalley for the quick response and repairs.
