We would like to wish a Happy Retirement to Vicki Hewitt. Thank you for your 28 years of service to Morris County and to the citizens of Morris County. You will surely be missed. Congratulations and good luck.

Well...what can I say. It looks like the fun stuff may be here a little early this year. Be careful if you need to be out tonight and be cautious on your morning commute as some of the roads may be slick.

Our prayers are with the officers and families of those in Sedgwick County.

CGES 3rd grade visit to the Sheriffs Office

A little late but Happy Retirement to Dan Good. A great Deputy and a great guy. Enjoy your vacation.

Road work has begun on K149 between U56 and K4. Expect delays and use caution around workers.

Folks in the Council Grove area please take the time to read this.

We have received numerous reports of a scam where the caller claims to be an agent of the Internal Revenue Service. The caller will advise the potential victim they are being investigated for fraud and tax evasion and will demand a payment to avoid an arrest warrant being issued. The caller is a male with a middle-Eastern accent or a computer automated voice. This is a scam that is annually repeated, usually by foreign criminals. The IRS will never contact anyone by phone in this manner. If anyone receives a call similar to this, please hang-up and do not give them any money.

This vehicle was reported stolen in Chase County today. If you see this vehicle please call 911 or the Sheriff's Office at 620-767-6310.

Kdot started a chip and seal project on U56 starting at Council Grove going West. They are also doing K177 North from the city limits. Expect delays and slow down on the loose gravel.

We are sad to learn the second Deputy involved in yesterday's incident in KCK has passed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those involved in today's tragedy and to the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office.
