Osage City Electrical Crews and Westar Energy worked through the night to repair one of the main transformers. The city was powered over night from our power plant while repairs were being made. Power was restored back to normal at approximately 4:30am. Thanks to all our Osage City Electrical Departments and Westar Energy for their hard work!!

BURNING DATES OSAGE CITY, KANSAS The City of Osage City will allow the burning of grass, weeds, leaves, waterways, yards, gardens, and fence lines shall be permitted, between the days of Thursday, November 1, 2018 through Monday, December 31, 2018, provided conditions are favorable; the County does not have a burn ban in place, wind speed is not more than 10 MPH; a water hose is securely fastened to an operable water facet and the length of the hose available is sufficient to reach the area where the controlled burn is occurring; no fire is left unattended; and no burning is to be performed on or intersect the sidewalks, streets or gutters of City streets. There is a rumor going around that someone broke into the high school band equipment trailer and stole band equipment. The Osage City Police Department has confirmed with the school this is not the case.

October 23rd 2018 the Osage City Police Department investigated the theft of a BBQ grill. The incident was recorded on video surveillance, which led to the arrest of 45-year-old David Powell of Osage City. Powell was transported to the Jail facility in Lyndon, and booked in for the theft and outstanding warrants from Lyon and Allen counties.

This morning 10-18-18 in Overbrook, Kansas a neighbor reported seeing a package dropped off across the street by a postal carrier. Soon after a newer white Ford pickup truck pulled up and male subject wearing all black and red shoes. The suspect ran up and stole the package off the porch. Due to heavy rainfall, the Osage City Lake is now releasing water over the spillway. The high water levels has flooded over South 4th Street, at base of Dam. THE ROAD IS CLOSED. DO NOT PASS OR MOVE BARRICADES!! Thank You and Be Safe!!

STOLEN CAR ALERT Osage City Kansas On 9/14/2018, the Osage City Police Department is investigating a stolen black colored, 4-door, 2014 Nissan Ultima car, bearing Kansas Tag 625 HPH. The car was stolen from the 600 block of Sunset Street, Osage City. The estimated time of the theft was between 8:30 PM to 1:30 AM.
