Pawnee County Sheriff Scott King along with Deputy Eli Makings and Emergency Management Mark Wagner, had the pleasure of passing out Halloween candy at the Nekoma State Bank with the banking staff in Burdett, Kansas Wednesday afternoon. As you can image there were a variety of costumes being shown off from the kids of Pawnee Heights school. Thank you for the invite to participate!

Parents, trick-or-treating is a great adventure for children. Keep it fun by preparing yourself and your children for a safe night out, beginning with these safety tips.

On Tuesday evening, Deputies were notified of a suspicious vehicle at a farm residence located North of Larned. Deputies arrived and met with the owner of the residence. Deputies searched the house and located a female subject hiding inside the residence. The female was arrested, transported and booked in to the Pawnee County Jail for Burglary, Interference with Law Enforcement, Criminal Trespass, Theft and Criminal Damage to Property.

We would like to express our gratitude for the First Responders Appreciation Dinner. What a thoughtful gesture and the meal was delicious!! Thank you!

Get outside and enjoy some free shooting! Organized, safe and fun way to learn more about firearm safety and shooting.

On October 10th, at 0021 hours (12:30 am) a Pawnee County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle west of Garfield. The suspect took the first muddy road off of U56 and continued westbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then proceeded to get stuck. The male driver ran on foot, the female passenger stepped out and was taken in to custody. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Larned Police Department with setup of perimeter. Throughout the night, deputies searched with K9 Noa and the Sheriff's Office's hand held FLIR ( Infrared Imaging System). Early this morning, one of our deputies spotted the male suspect in a shelterbelt at a residence. Foot pursuit ensued by our deputies (including K9 Noa), Ford County Sheriff and Kansas Highway Patrol. Noa alerted to nearby hay bales and suspect was apprehended. Male suspect was then transported to nearby hospital by Larned EMS. Male suspect has multiple warrants out of Dickinson County, KS.

And a little bit of 'classroom' training...

Thank you to Ryan Davis and Ford County Sheriff's Office for our K9 Training at Camp Pawnee last week!
