We were very thankful after a citizen called us to stop by their house so her son could give us something. This young man made a card for us and wanted to say thanks for what we do.

Any questions about car seats or any parent needing help with their installation, come on out to the Goddard Walmart right now. We’ll be here until 4pm today. Walmart is also holding a Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser today with a car show as well.

Car Show in Goddard! GPD will be showing off a car as well. Dove Estates Senior Living is hosting a car show tonight from 6pm to 9pm along with an option for a $5 cookout meal. There will also be a band and 50+ cars. Come join us at 1400 South 183rd Street West in the back/East parking lot.

Our yearly Bicycle Rodeo for 2018 will be held August 11 at 9am to 12pm. We will be set up at Oak Street Elementary School in the parking lot. If you'd like to sign up early, please email delson@goddardks.gov or call our office at 794-2051. We will have a drawing for 4 new bicycles (!!) and other great prizes! Snacks and water will be provided! Bring your bicycle and helmet and learn basic safety and riding skills by our Goddard Police Bicycle Unit officers. It is not necessary to be a Goddard resident to participate. Come on over and have a lot of fun with us!

Ofc Roney joining other public safety agencies for First Responder Appreciation night during the NBC World Series at Lawrence Dumont Stadium last night. A nice tribute to those that serve their communities. WPD Ofc Brian Arterburn got to throw out the first pitch to start the game.

Goddard citizens will be seeing our bike officers out on proactive patrol on a more routine basis with the implementation of the 10 hour schedule. We now have the overlap in schedules to allow for these policing activities. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Let’s all enjoy our Independence Day firework celebrations by being safe and obeying the rules for fireworks discharge within city limits. As a reminder, you can discharge fireworks through the 5th until 10pm with the only exception being on the 4th until 11pm. Discharging fireworks in the roadways is also not allowed. Please don’t put our officers in a position to need to write a citation so be respectful of the rules, of your neighbors and have a safe celebration!

We have two dogs, one a small mixed-breed dog and the other a female pit, that have apparently gotten separated from their owners during the storm. They appear to be scared and skittish. The Goddard Police Department is attempting to locate a missing and endangered person, Audrey Lappan, and her two children, Grayson age 9 and Mabel age 15 months. Audrey is possibly traveling in a dark blue Honda Pilot, KS tag 711-KUA, and they have not been heard from since Monday March 26th. Still no owner for the German Shorthair Pointer. We've had some inquiries about adopting him. He will probably be going to their organization on Thursday or Friday. He had no chip or collar
