Deputy Payne tonight at the FOP’s trunk or treat event. We would like to thank the FOP Auxiliary for putting on this event.

We would like to thank the children’s group of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church for inviting Cpl Free & Deputy Payne along with members of the Owensboro Police Department & Daviess County Detention Center to their “Cookies With A Cop” event tonight.

We would like to thank Windstone Subdivision for inviting us to participate in their “Neighbors For Superheroes” event where the neighbors could meet with the first responders that serve their neighborhood.

We welcome our newest Deputy Matt Alexander, to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office. Matt has worked hard in completing his 23 weeks of training in Richmond with DOCJT class# 495 and now begins training on the job with experienced deputies. Lt Wedding and Sgt Freels went to his graduation today. Welcome Matt to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office family.

One of our deputies would like to extend his sincere gratitude to the couple who bought his lunch yesterday. We say this a lot but please know that we are blessed to serve a community that supports their law enforcement.

Law Enforcement K9 handlers that are members of the Vigilant K9 group attended an emergency trama/first aid class today hosted by Towne Square Animal Hospital. Poison, overdose, narcan administration, K9 CPR and many other trama techniques were discussed. Officers and Deputies from Daviess Co, Owensboro PD, McLean Co, Hancock Co, Russellville PD, Hopkins Co, Madisonville PD, Daviess Co Detention, and a paramedic from Yellow Ambulance Service received the training. A huge thank you to Towne Square Animal Hospital and Dr. Curtis, DVM for instructing.

We appreciate Sorgho Elementary School inviting Lt Wedding & Cpl Free along with members of the Owensboro Police Department, Kentucky State Police, Daviess County Fire Department, & Owensboro Fire Department to Heroes Day. The first responders got to eat lunch & interact with every class in the school.

We greatly appreciate Cub Scout Ben Sewell & his family who brought cupcakes in yesterday for our deputies. We appreciate the support of our community.

Our continued prayers are with OPD Officer Zach Morris who was shot this morning in the line of duty. Your prayers for Officer Morris, his family, & the Owensboro Police Dept are greatly appreciated. The amount of support that this community gives their law enforcement is humbling.

Just a reminder about joining us & the Sunset Cruisers at Texas Roadhouse today from 3pm-7pm. This will be a benefit for Army Armstrong (to help with medical bills) & the Honor Flight. 10% of all proceeds that night will go to the Honor Flight. Our Hummer and the Sunset Cruisers will be out in the parking lot across from Texas Roadhouse.
