We have lost one of our finest this eve. Deputy John Hensley spent many years with the Sheriff’s Dept. He lost his battle with cancer today and went to be with the lord. “John was one of the most knowledgeable officers we had” says Sheriff Cooper. Please pray for his family. “Some Gave All” John spent the last few years as the school resource officer changing life’s in our schools. God be with his family...SO2 10-10 signal 1 please share....

As we start to heat up, keep a check on the older folks in our lives. Also sometimes the less fortunate may need a hand with cooling down as well. Look out for your neighbors! Be safe out there Greenup County.

Brief: 4-26 Drug buy and bust in a South Portmouth apartment complex. South Shore Police Bill Sword along with Greenup Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Caldwell made arrests on two subject living in the apartment after they had made drug transactions. Both subject were lodged in the Greenup Co. Detention Center.

Stolen 3-17-18 from Industrial Parkway area 8X12 Homesteader enclosed trailer. Any information please call 473-1411 Deputy Ritchie.

Deputy Hensley has selflessly and proudly served the people of Greenup County and tirelessly worked to ensure the safety of those around him. John is a dedicated family man and will enjoy his retirement with them. He has and always will be our brother and we always knew we were safe when John had our back. In the past few years John had been assigned to the Greenup County school system as School Resource Officer, protecting and changing life’s in our schools. Help us wish the best to Deputy John Hensley as he retires.
