The Hodgenville Police Department will start accepting application for our Hanging with Heroes program on October 22nd. The last day to return completed applications is November 30th and this year’s shopping day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December,15th. Applications can be picked up and dropped off during normal business hours at Hodgenville City Hall. In simple terms, we started this program to help those families in our community that are struggling. We have all had times in our lives where a little compassion and assistance went a long way. We are blessed to live in a community that understands that and is willing to help their neighbor. That speaks volumes about our little town and the surrounding area! If someone would like to donate, they can simply stop by City Hall or get with SGT Richardson at HPD. They will see the money is put to good use!

Please use caution in the area of North Lincoln and Phillips Ln. we have a couple horses that have gotten out and are roaming the area.

All the property we took in yesterday has been identified and the owners have all been contacted. Thanks to everyone’s help and Facebook, we recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property from two counties and at least three separate cases. Thanks again for sharing and helping us find the owners!

***UPDATE ON OUR STOLEN PROPERTY CASE*** We have recovered a saddle and several long guns belonging to a person in Meade County. We have two long guns we have not identified as well as some RC gas powered aircraft, pocket watches, an engraver, a Dremel, and an East Sport backpack containing some costume jewelry. We also have to inventory another location that has power tools and misc. equipment. We are in contact with surrounding agencies so if you have filed a police report, there is no need to call.

Crews will be installing a new sidewalk on North Lincoln Blvd near Shawnee. There will a lane shut on the south bound side traveling toward the square. Please SLOW DOWN as you pass the workers and use caution while in the area.
