3 arrested at complaint investigation: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner arrested 3 individuals on Friday afternoon November 2, 2018 at approximately 12:50 PM off Ky 192 just west of London in a business parking lot after being dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle – a white colored Chevrolet Cavalier- there in the business parking lot. Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Turner located three individuals – one that was determined to be under the influence and in possession of drug paraphernalia along with an open container , one individual that created a disturbance during the investigation, and one individual that was determined to be under the influence, in possession of drug paraphernalia and gave false identifying information Deputy Turner. The three arrested individuals were identified as: Emanuel Hoskins age 44 of Corbin charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited. Judy Hoskins age 62 of London charged with disorderly conduct – second-degree. Also arrested was Tiffany Whitehead age 40 of VanZant Road, Lily charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of open help alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, giving officer false identifying information, disorderly conduct – second-degree, possession of marijuana. In addition, this subject was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants including a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest regarding being discharged against medical advice from Mountain center of recovery and hope regarding charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense, theft of motor vehicle registration plate, and receiving stolen property $10,000 or more. In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox District Court warrant of arrest charging unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – first offense; in addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of two counts of forgery second-degree; two counts of theft of identity of another without consent; two counts of theft by deception – cold checks; persistent felony offender; shock probation in felony convictions. Arrest: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Gary Mehler arrested Jamie Howard age 38 of London on Friday morning November 2, 2018 at approximately 11:20 AM. The arrest occurred off Southard Road approximately 2 miles east of London while deputies were investigating a suspicious person complaint in the area when they encountered this subject learning that he was wanted on outstanding warrants including a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and other violations. In addition, this subject was charged on a second Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license and numerous other violations. Sheriff John Root makes drug arrest near a school: Laurel County Sheriff John Root along with Major Chuck Johnson and Bailiff Roy ball arrested Donnie B. Belt age 41 of Huckleberry Rd., Manchester on Friday morning November 2, 2018 at approximately 11:20 AM. The arrest occurred off Barbourville road, approximately 8 miles South of London after the Sheriff’s office received a complaint of a male subject who appeared to be intoxicated at a business near Campground school. While enroute to the scene updated reports were received that he was creating a disturbance there. When the Sheriff and deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, they determined that this individual was under the influence. In addition, this subject was found in possession of methadone, Suboxone, Xanax, and marijuana along with US currency. It was further noted that this individual was within 1000 feet of Campground elementary school. Donnie belt was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree; trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense; trafficking a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school; possession of marijuana. Dui arrest at traffic crash scene on south U.S. 25: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested James W. Spalding age 61 of Corbin on Thursday night November 1, 2018 at approximately 7:10 PM. The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 9 miles South of London while Deputy Cloyd was investigating a single vehicle traffic crash involving a gray Chevrolet Silverado which had apparently drove into a stop sign and ditch line there. Deputy Cloyd conducted an investigation on the driver after detecting the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver and determined following his investigation that the driver was under the influence. James Spalding was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; license to be in possession; failure to produce insurance card; and other violations and was lodged in the Laurel County detention center. The arrest occurred off Ky 1376 approximately 7 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there. Upon arrival at the scene deputies found that this individual was manifestly intoxicated and had been creating a disturbance there. Carl D. Federal fugitive arrested by deputies following foot chase/search: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Taylor McDaniel, Major Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Deputy Allen Turner, Detective Gary Mehler, Detective Bryon Lawson, Deputy Daniel Grigsby and his K-9”Edge”, Sheriff John Root, with assistance from the US Marshals service arrested Eddie Allen Simpson age 49 of Keavy Rd., London on Thursday morning November 1, 2018 at approximately 9:39 AM. The arrest occurred off Liberty Cir., Road, approximately 2 miles west of London after information was developed on the whereabouts of a federal fugitive. Deputies proceeded to the area and observed a vehicle being operated by Simpson and upon turning to locate the vehicle found it abandoned off Liberty Cir. Road with the driver having fled the scene. The Sheriff’s office deployed their K-9 directed by Deputy Daniel Grigsby and following a search in the wooded area there located Simpson laying in a ditch and following a brief struggle with the K-9 and deputies Simpson was taken into custody. Eddie Simpson was charged with fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct – second-degree; menacing. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest obtained by Deputy Taylor McDaniel charging fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle; reckless driving – regarding a traffic stop conducted on July 8, 2018 where Simpson was operating a motorcycle stopped by Deputy McDaniel ,which during the traffic stop, fled the scene in a reckless manner and was not located off South US 25 and Ky 192 near London. Also, Simpson was a wanted individual wanted by the US Marshals service on federal charges of selling amphetamine. Eddie Allen Simpson was lodged in the Laurel County detention center. The two individuals arrested were charged on outstanding bench warrants and are identified as Buddy James Allen age 33 of Hensley Rd., East Bernstadt charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine. In addition, this subject was charged on another Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license and numerous other violations. This individual was also charged on a third Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of driving on DUI suspended license – first offense and other violations. Also arrested was Christina Nicole Wagers age 33 of Moren Town Rd., London charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine. 2 arrested after subject tries to sell drugs to off duty deputy: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Bryon Lawson, along with Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Detective Gary Mehler, and Deputy John Wright and off-duty Deputy Allen Turner arrested two individuals on Tuesday afternoon October 30, 2018 at approximately 1:51 PM. The arrests occurred off Hatcher Road approximately 2/10 mile east of London after a subject later identified as Stevie Westerfield approached off-duty, out of uniform Deputy Allen Turner(whom the suspect did not know)--- and Westerfield attempted to sale drugs to the off-duty deputy at a local store off Ky 638 near London. An investigation was conducted on the Westerfield subject along with another individual who was located at a residence in the vicinity where Sheriff’s detectives and deputies found the two individuals in possession of a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine and several items in the residence used to smoke methamphetamine and marijuana. The two arrested individuals were identified as: • the individual who approached the off-duty deputy-- Stevie Westerfield age 62 of Hatcher Rd., London charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. • Philip Henson age 38 of Appaloosa trail, Corbin charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine. Brummett age 30 of London on Monday night October 29, 2018 at approximately 9:58 PM. The arrest occurred off Fount Hubbard Road, approximately 6 miles west of London. The arrest occurred after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male and female subject arguing outside a residence and destroying property outside a residence there. Upon arrival at the scene deputies located a male subject and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence. Deputies learned through investigation that the male subject had been outside a residence destroying property and screaming and creating a disturbance there. Deputies noted several items outside a residence damaged including vehicles. Frank Brummett was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; disorderly conduct – second-degree. Chris Edwards, Detective Gary Mehler, Deputy Joey Robinson, Deputy Allen Turner, Deputy Daniel Grigsby, and Detective Bryon Lawson arrested Raymond Russell Burkhead age 47 of London on Monday afternoon October 29, 2018 at approximately 1:30 PM. The arrest occurred off Johnson Road, approximately 9 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic violence complaint in progress there. When deputies arrived at the scene a female victim was located in the middle of the roadway advising that a male subject was at the residence and there was a firearm in the residence. Deputies conducted an investigation and learned that apparently the two individuals there had been verbally fighting and that today the male subject had allegedly gotten the female subject in a chokehold and was yelling at her. Raymond Russell Burkhead was charged with assault – 4 th degree – domestic violence and was lodged in the Laurel County detention center. Parole violator uses false name: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with Bailiff Sean Hayre, Deputy Roy ball, Deputy Daniel Reed, arrested a female subject on Sunday night October 28, 2018 at approximately 6:45 PM the arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart’s loss prevention team detained this subject who identified herself as Patricia Hensley age 29 of Corbin. When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that this subject had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for $297.92 worth of merchandise. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County detention center. It was learned through further investigation by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Gray that this individual had given false identifying information to deputies earlier and was in fact identified as Ashley Boggs age 29 of Watch Rd., Corbin. It was determined that this individual was wanted on a parole violation warrant and had apparently given deputies a false name hoping to avoid the parole violation charges. Ashley Boggs was charged with the additional charges of giving officer false identifying information. In addition, the subject was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense and numerous other violations. In addition, this subject was charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation warrant charging absconding parole supervision; failure to report change and home address to parole officer; failure to report to parole officer as directed regarding a conviction in Knox Circuit Court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; bail jumping – first-degree. Out of control subject: Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with Deputy Jamie Etherton, Deputy Allen Turner, assisted by Trooper John Pratt arrested Travis Kelly age 37 of Wise Owl Rd., Keavy on Sunday afternoon October 28, 2018 at approximately 4:15 PM. The arrest occurred off Wise Owl Rd. approximately 7 miles South of London after officers were dispatched to a complaint of an out-of-control subject at a residence. When deputies arrived at the residence they determined that this subject had previously been trespassed from this residence and was found laying on the front porch of the residence. When deputies approached this individual he told officers that the Sheriff’s office could not serve papers on him due to him having a restraining order on the Sheriff’s office. This subject then began cursing and creating a disturbance there and was taken into custody. While enroute to the correctional facility this individual began kicking the partition in the police cruiser.
