We would like to warn the community about a new scam that has been brought to our attention. It is an extortion email threat requesting thousands of dollars. The email addresses you by name and knows one of your online passwords or may even know the last digits of your phone number. These emails proceed to claim malware is placed on an adult entertainment site that you have visited and recorded you as you were visiting the site. They state they will expose you to all your contacts from Messenger, Facebook account and email accounts unless you pay thousands of dollars via Bitcoin. Please do not fall victim to this scam and report any suspicious email activity to IC3.gov or contact the FBI toll-free at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
