Arrest made in the April 8th,2018 stabbing incident on Overton St. Marksville City Detectives have made an arrest on 31 year old Jarrell White of Simmesport. White allegedly stabbed another individual during an altercation. White was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail on Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
Thanks to the public's help Jacob Scott 22 of Simmesport had been arrested! Scott was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail. Thanks to the Simmesport Police Department for the assistance in this case. This shows what our community and agencies that work together can accomplish!!
Two arrest made in May 21st, 2018 shooting on Green St. that left a 15 year old bystander wounded. Marksville City Detectives arrested a 15 year old Juvenile and 20 year old Christian Scott of Simmesport in connection with the shooting. Both Scott and the juvenile have been charged with ATTEMPTED 2ND DEGREE MURDER,ASSAULT BY DRIVE BY SHOOTING, AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY and ILLEGAL USE OF WEAPONS. Marksville City Police are asking the public's help in locating a third person involved in the incident. Jacob Scott 22 of Simmesport and the brother of Christian Scott. Jacob Scott currently has active warrants for his arrest. Marksville City Detectives advise DO NOT APPROACH SCOTT he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information in the whereabouts of Scott is asked to call the Marksville Police Department at 318-253-9250 or your local police department.
Arrest made in May 27th, 2018 shooting on Legion Dr. Marksville City Detectives arrested 20 year old Jordan Pierite of Marksville in connection of the late night shooting that left a Mansura man injured and caused him to crash his vehicle into a tree on Legion Dr. Pierite was arrested without incident on attempted 2nd degree murder and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail.
Any and all information leading to the identities and arrest of the individuals involved in the Shooting and injuring of a minor child on Green and MLK is wanted. Private messages on our Facebook Page can be made as well as calling 318-253-9250.
On April 25, 2018 Marksville City Police Department received an anonymous call of possible Narcotic activity around Avoyelles Hospital and the walking track located on Hospital Rd. Narcotics Agents were able to get to the Hospital area and noticed a hand to hand transaction between Semaj Sampson of Marksville and Nicole Dauzat also of Marksville. Agents along with road Officer's made contact with both Sampson and Dauzat. Dauzat was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. Sampson was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail for Distribution of Marijuana. Dauzat was also arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Marksville City Police would like to personally thank the caller for the information. This information is the reason for our Facebook page. We encourage the public to keep us informed of any suspicious activity you see or feel may need checking into.
On May 1,2018 Marksville City Narcotics Unit along with road Officer's went to a residence located on Main St. to serve a warrant on Trey Rachal of Marksville. Rachal noticed Officer's pulling up in to the Tassin apartments and attempted to flee the scene of foot. Officer's noticed Rachal throw something into the residence as the foot chase continued. Officer's were able to arrest Rachal after the foot chase. Narcotic Agents located inside the residence roughly 10 grams of suspected Heroin and 7 grams of suspected Crystal Meth. Rachal was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail on Possession of CDS I with intent to distribute, resisting arrest , and a warrant for Contempt of court. A female subject inside the residence was not charged and later released.
On May 2, 2018 Marksville road units responded to a call at Walmart of a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the rear of the business. Once on scene Officer's spoke to Richard Speir of Pineville . Officer's then located roughly $500.00 dollars of suspected Heroin, Marijuana and Crystal Meth. Speir was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail on Possession of CDS I with intent to distribute, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute and Possession of CDS II.
The Marksville City Police Department would like to send a special thanks to the Tribal Police Department's K-9 unit and the Simmesport Police Department for assisting in the arrest on April 12th, 2018. Both agencies commitment to providing assistance for other area agencies was a huge factor in the arrest made!!
On Thursday April 12th, 2018 the Marksville City Narcotics Unit along with the Patrol Division arrested two females for Distribution of CDS II and several other felony charges. Lilly Bach 19 of Alexandria and Kerri Perkins 35 of Lecompte were arrested following a investigation that lead officers to the vehicle the two females were in. During the investigation Narcotic Agents recovered a .40 caliber handgun, 56 grams of suspected Methamphetamine street value of $4,000 dollars, suspected marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of cash seized from the two suspects. Bach and Perkins were booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail.
