The West Monroe Police Department participated in a Prescription Take Back Day with area law enforcement agencies, local grocery stores and the Children's Coalition for Northeast Louisiana. We are proud to announce that more than 755 pounds of unused medications were collected in this region - 160 pounds of that amount were collected at the West Monroe Police Department drop box. The drop off box is located just inside the West Monroe Police Department and is available to the public at any time of the day. We encourage residents to properly dispose of unused medications.

The City of West Monroe will observe Halloween on Wednesday, October 31. Trick-or-treating is recommended from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There are a number of fall carnivals, church events, trunk ‘n treat activities, etc. happening this week and specifically on Wednesday night. The Endom Bridge will be closed on Saturday, October 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Brew on the Bridge event taking place. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during this time.

On 09/23/2018, a report of a vehicle burglary was taken by West Monroe Police. The victims bank card was used a short time later by an unknown person. A photograph of that unknown person was obtained from surveillance video. West Monroe Police is needing the public's help. On 08/23/2018, a vehicle burglary occurred at the Waffle House on Thomas Road. The photographs below are of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle. It is believed the red GMC Yukon my have a Florida License plate, possibly ending in 042. DOTD has advised that the Endom Bridge is back open today to traffic.

The public is advised that beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, the La. Dept. of Transportation and Development will close the Endom Bridge to all roadway and pedestrian traffic. The bridge is expected to be closed through 5 p.m. on September 20. This closure is needed for mechanical maintenance on the bridge. DOTD reminds the public to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

West Monroe Police is needing your help. On 9-1-18, this vehicle and person were involved in a Hit and Run crash that occurred at a local super market. If you have any information, please call Detective Paul Blunschi at 318-396-2722.

***UPDATE ON TP OUTDOORS BURGLARY*** One suspect has been identified in the TP Outdoors burglary. Suspect Ashton Thomas' arrest warrant for the TP burglary and his photo have been attached. Multiple suspects are still being sought for their participation in this crime. Please contact Detective Ray Spoon if you are aware of Thomas’ current whereabouts, or have any more information regarding this investigation.

On 8-18-18, the attached suspect went into a storage building on Riverfront Street and took a bicycle and pole saw. If anyone has any information, please call Detective Paul Blunschi at 318-396-2722.

As another school year starts this week, please be mindful of these back to school safety tips provided by the West Monroe Police Department.

On The early morning or 8-1-18, the two attached perpetrators went into three carports in West Monroe and committed numerous thefts. Anyone knowing the identity of these individuals please contact Det. Paul Blunschi with the West Monroe Police at West Monroe Police Department.

As school has already started for some and will be starting next week for most, here are a few safety tips and reminders.

On 8-2-18, a wallet and contents was stolen from a local business. The perpetrators are displayed as a white or Hispanic female, a black male and a black female child. They were in a Silver Kia Optima. Anyone knowing the identity of these individuals please contact Det. Paul Blunschi with the West Monroe Police at 318-396-2722.
