CAPTURED: Taylor Miller of Kentwood, LA that escaped from St. Helena Jail Facility on Saturday, October 20th has been captured in Pearl, MS. He is currently being held at Rankin County Jail in Brandon, MS awaiting extradition to St. Helena. Sheriff Williams expresses his gratitude to law enforcement officers that played a part in capturing Miller.

Sheriff Williams would like to give a “BIG THANK YOU” to the employees and the booths which were First Guaranty Bank, Angela Myles with LSU Agriculture, St. Helena Tourist Commission, and District Four Fire Department for taking part in our annual Fall Fest. St. Helena- A grand jury in St. Helena parish returned a True Bill of Indictment on Monday, October 22, 2018 for a Pine Grove resident charged in the July murder of a Montpelier man. Grand jurors indicted Jalentria Dokes with one count of second degree murder in the death of Steven Ricard. Dokes is scheduled for arraignment on November 16, 2018.

This year’s fest will take place on Saturday, October 27th from noon until 2:00 at the Forest Festival grounds off Park Road. There will be plenty of food and fun for the family to enjoy. UPDATE!!! Sorry for the delay in updating. The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Department are working diligently in their efforts to locate Taylor Miller, 27 of Kentwood, LA. Miller escaped the correctional facility on Saturday, October 20th. As of Saturday, October 20th, it is believed that he headed down Highway 10 East in the direction of Whispering Pines. It is our belief that he has since traveled out of the state of Louisiana. This is the most recent picture of Miller. His appearance may have changed since this picture. Please call local authorities if you see or hear from Miller and please approach him with caution. Miller was being held at the facility on numerous charges which include simple burglary, theft, forgery, criminal damage to property, aggravated criminal damage to property, and theft of a motor vehicle. Please call St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Department at 225-222-4413, extension “0” or “230” with information that may led to the arrest of Miller.
