Recently Assistant Chief Francois, Lt. Brewer and Sgt. Graham joined the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office and Parish Government in attending Amite Elementary's Cardboard Challenge program. The Cardboard Challenge opportunity for student to play and learn by using simple materials to build the things they imagine. Amite Elementary was the only school in the state to participate in this national event.

We would like to thank the Amite Pentecostal Church for honoring first responders with their 3rd annual Back the Badge Ceremony. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Chief Trabona would like to remind all drivers that school zones will be in affect starting tomorrow for Tangipahoa Parish schools and Monday for Oak Forest. School Zones are active 7:00am to 9:00am in the morning and 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the afternoon. Please drive safe and have a great first day of school. Ofc. Currier

CASA recently held their pinwheel event in Amite to bring awareness to their efforts to prevent child abuse. Mayor Bel proclaimed April Child Abuse Prevention Month. Amite Police officers were in attendance to show their support for the cause. Photos C. Brooks and APD
