November 8, 2018 On 11-7-18 during the evening hours, Houma Police were notified of a suspicious note circulating via social media of a potential threat of a shooting at Ellender High School. Once learning of the threat, Houma Police began communicating with officials of the Terrebonne Parish School System assuring them that law enforcement was aware, an investigation had been launched and precautionary security measures were being implemented, which consisted of law enforcement and school personnel when school take in on the next day. On this date, 11-8-18, Houma Police and Louisiana State Police displayed a presence at Ellender High School as HPD continued their investigation. Houma Police learned the several parents decided to keep their children from school as a safety precaution, which was understood. During the investigation, Houma Police developed information which led them to a 14-yr. old student believed to be responsible for writing the note. The student was located at Ellender High School and immediately detained. He was then transported to the Houma Police Department and interviewed regarding the contents of the correspondence. At the conclusion of the interview, the 14-yr. old Ellender High student was arrested for Terrorizing and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center to be booked on the aforementioned charge. November 6, 2018 For several months, the Houma Police Department’s Narcotics Unit has been conducting investigation into the illegal sales of heroin within the 300 block of Richmond Avenue. During investigation, Houma Police narcotics agents were able to develop intel regarding several illegal sales of heroin and marijuana from an apartment within the 300 block of Richmond. A group known as “NFA”, which stands for Never Fight Again, were identified as suspects. As the investigation continued, Houma Police narcotics agents were able to secure a search warrant through the 32nd Judicial District Court for 320 Richmond Avenue Apartment #5. During the early morning hours of this date, representatives with the Houma Police Department’s SWAT team and narcotics division executed a search warrant at the apartment, which resulted in the seizure of heroin, marijuana, several weapons to include a sawed-off shotgun, an AR-15 assault rifle and over $1400 cash. Upon completion of the search warrant, Houma Police arrested Bobby Castle-18 yrs. old of Thomas Drive, Ronald Tillman III-18 yrs. old of Richmond Avenue, William Walker II-25 yrs. old of Prevost Drive, Troy Thomas-28 yrs. old of Richmond Drive and Dereonta Thomas-21 yrs. old of Richmond Avenue. All suspects were arrested for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Proceeds Involving Narcotics Transactions, Possession of Firearms while in Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun. Houma Police also charged the individuals with Criminal Gang Activity due the investigation establishing a pattern of ongoing activity by a specific group identifying themselves as NFA. Troy Thomas was additionally charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. All suspects were transported to the jail to be booked on the aforementioned charges. October 31, 2018 On this date shortly after 8am, Houma Police responded to the 500 block of Louise Street in reference to an Armed Robbery. While responding, it was relayed that 3 males entered a residence, while armed with weapons and demanded money and personal items from the victim. Another occupant of the residence, escaped and was able to notify law enforcement immediately. Shortly thereafter, Houma Police arrived on scene, secured a perimeter and began searching for the suspects. During the investigation, Houma Police contacted a male victim who stated 3 males entered his residence with weapons, pointed them at him demanding money and other personal items. During the incident, the victim stated something startled the suspects and they exited the residence. He stated he chased them, but was unsuccessful in apprehending them, but immediately noticed law enforcement. The victim stated he gave law enforcement a description in efforts for them to be apprehended. While securing the area, Houma Police located two suspects responsible for the armed and immediately took them into custody. They were identified as Kevin Brown Jr.-19 yrs. old of Coteau Rd and Mi’Dell Folse-18 yrs. old of Levron Street. Houma Police were also able to identify the third suspect as being Ijah Baptiste-24 yrs. old of Anthony Drive in Thibodaux, La, but were unsuccessful in apprehending him. As the investigation continued, Houma Police located multiple weapons, as well as clothing discarded by the suspects. Houma Police also located large amounts of narcotics, such as marijuana, cocaine and codeine, within the residence this robbery took place. At this point, Kevin Brown Jr and Mi’Dell Folse were arrested for Armed Robbery. They were transported to the jail to be booked accordingly. Houma Police detectives will be securing an arrest warrant on Ijah Baptist for Armed Robbery. At this point the investigation continues as Houma Police Narcotics agents interview the residents as charges may apply due to the narcotics recovered in the home. News Release Document October 30th, 2018 On September 5th 2018 the Houma Police Department began an investigation of an alleged rape of a 14 year old female. The investigation revealed that the victim had been drugged and raped by multiple suspects. Based on the investigation two suspects were developed which are identified as being Aronderick Washington 33 years of age and Jarred Johnson 31 years of age. On 10-26-2018 Jarred Johnson was located and taken into custody without incident. Johnson was then booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex for one count of Second Degree Rape. At the present time Aronderick Washington has an outstanding arrest warrant for one count of Second Degree Rape. October 26, 2018 For the past couple of months, the Houma Police Department Narcotics Division has been investigating complaints of illegal narcotic activity on Merrill Drive. While doing so, Keith Gaudet-59 yrs. old of Merrill Drive, was identified as a suspect selling heroin. After several purchases, Houma Police secured arrest warrants on Keith Gaudet for 2 counts of Distribution of Heroin, as well as a search warrant for his residence. At approximately 0330 hrs. on 10-24-18, Keith Gaudet was taken into custody and arrested per warrants. During the investigation Houma Police located 11 packages of heroin, as well as assorted pieces of drug paraphernalia and he was additionally charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. As the investigation continued, Houma Police narcotics agents developed information on a secondary suspect who was in possession of several packages of heroin. He was identified as Elijah Washington-31 yrs. old of Henderson Street. Additional search warrants were obtained for a vehicle and a hotel room belonging to Washington and they were executed. Upon the execution of the search warrants, Houma Police located a large amount of US currency believed to be derived from the illegal sales of narcotics, several packages of heroin, as well as a loaded .357 magnum revolver. At the conclusion of the investigation, Elijah Washington was arrested for Distribution of Heroin, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin and Proceeds Derived from the Illegal Sales of narcotics. Both Keith Gaudet and Elijah Washington were transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex to be booked and jailed to await bond or court. The Houma Police Department’s Narcotics Division will continue to be proactive and investigate the illegal sales of narcotics within the city limits. News Release Document October 19th, 2018 On October 18th, 2018 at approximately 2:30p.m. the Houma Police Department responded to a gambling establishment located on the east side Houma in reference to a complaint of counterfeit money being used. Upon arrival it was learned that Joshua Roberts 43 years of age entered the business a made change with a $20 bill. Roberts then gambled away the money and attempted to make change again and it was at that point that the employee discovered that both bills were counterfeit. The Houma Police Department then responded and took the suspect into custody without incident. At the present time Roberts was booked with one count of Monetary Instrument Abuse and is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. Sgt. As a result of the investigation it was discovered that Michael Authement 56 years of age had sex with a mentally handicapped family member and a child was conceived. News Release Document October 15th, 2018 On October 15th, 2018 at approximately 7:00a.m. the Houma Police Department responded to a head on crash with injuries on the top of the Dularge Overpass. A 1997 Toyota Corolla driven by a 49 year old female was traveling East on the Dularge Overpass and for an unknown reason crossed the centerline of the roadway and into the path of a 1997 Nissan pickup driven by a 50 year old male and his 55 year old male passenger. As a result all three subjects were transported to medical facilities for their injuries by Acadian Ambulance. The injuries sustained in the crash were all considered to be moderate to serious injuries and at the present time are still being treated. The cause of the crash is not yet known as it is still under investigation. Sgt. October 11, 2018 On 10-10-18 shortly after 9am, Houma Police responded to the area of Ray Drive in reference to a burglary in progress. While responding, it was being relayed that an unknown male entered a vehicle within the 2000 block of Ray Drive and was rummaging through it. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the male still inside the vehicle and immediately took him into custody without incident. He was identified as Wilontray Hester-19yrs old of Mary Ann Street. As the investigation continued, Hester initially gave officers a “fake” name, but when transported to the jail his identity was revealed. Houma Police interviewed the victim and witnesses who stated Hester had no reason to be in the vehicle. Taking this into consideration, Wilontray Hester was arrested for Simple Burglary and Resisting an Officer. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex to be booked and jailed to await bond or court. News Release Document October 1st, 2018 The Houma Police Department began investigating a string of burglaries in mid September as the suspect was forcing entry into convenience stores on the Eastside of Houma. On each burglary the suspect would make entry by breaking the window of the business. Upon making entry he would steal cigarettes and alcohol to include a television and DVD player on one occasion. After each burglary he would flee the area and sell the stolen property to individuals in the neighborhood. On September 28th the suspect was located by the Houma Police Department uniform patrol division and identified as Keith Jones 51 years of age, Baker Drive, Houma. Keith was linked to five other burglaries which occurred during the above mention time frame. As a result of the investigation he was charged with a total of six (6) counts of simple burglary. Keith was transported to the Terrebonne parish jail where he was booked and housed. Sgt. News Release Document September 26th, 2018 On September 25th, 2018 at approximately 8:45p.m. members of the Houma Police Department uniform patrol division responded to a report of an armed robbery which occurred on the Main Street Side of the Twin Span Nearest to Terrebonne General Medical Center. Upon arrival contact was made with a 28 year old female whom advised she was walking on the main street overpass when she was approached by the suspect as he was armed with a semi automatic handgun. The suspect then placed the weapon to her head and loaded a round into the chamber of the weapon demanding all of her property. After taking all of her property he forced her remove her shirt, bra, shoes and socks, at which time the suspect fled the area on foot. Officers then received information that the suspect was in the area of Terrebonne General Medical Center at which time officers responded in an attempt to locate him. An extensive search of the area was conducted and at approximately 2230 hrs the suspect was located hiding under a camper trailer in the 800 block of High Street. At that time the suspect was taken into custody without incident and identified as Kendrick Lamar Davis Jr 18 years of age from Greenville Mississippi. News Release Document September 25th, 2018 On September 22nd, 2018at approximately 10:32p.m. the Houma Police Department responded to Leonard Chabert Medical Center in reference to a subject being shot in the 900 block of East Street. Upon arrival officers located a 23 year old male subject suffering from a gunshot injury to his foot. The victim was then treated at and released for his injuries. On September 23rd, 2018 at approximately 10:00a.m. the Houma Police Department responded to a drive by shooting in the 300 block of East Street. Upon arrival officers located a residence that was occupied by 8 people at the time of the shooting and located several bullet holes in the residence. As a result of the investigation Detectives learned that there was an ongoing feud between Shaft Verdin 24 and a 16 year old male juvenile. Because of the ongoing feud the 16 year old juvenile attempts to shoot Shaft but he mistakenly shoots the wrong person in a drive by shooting on September 22nd in the 900 block of East Street. In that shooting the vehicle was driven by Trent Authement 23yoa with a 16 year old juvenile being the shooter. Upon Verdin learning of the shooting which took place the night prior he decided to retaliate on the 16 year old juvenile. Verdin then went to a family residence and began shooting at a home in the 300 block of East Street which was occupied by eight family members of the juvenile. In that shooting there were no injuries reported and only property damage. As a result of the investigation Trent Authement 23years of age has been arrested for his role in the September 22nd shooting and he has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault by Drive by Shooting. A warrant has been obtained on the 16 year old juvenile for one count of attempted 2nd Degree Murder. Warrants have also been issued for the arrest of Shaft Verdin for eight counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. September 20, 2018 From July 2018 to present, the Houma Police Department have been investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred within the Summerfield, Barrios, Mulberry and Westgate neighborhoods. While doing so, Houma Police were able to ascertain surveillance footage of a male suspect wearing a backpack and riding a bicycle that may be responsible for over 30 burglaries where cash and firearms were stolen. As the investigation continued, Houma Police interviewed several witnesses and learned that the suspect responsible for the burglaries can be identified as Javon Davis-28 yrs. old of St. Joseph Street. At this point, Houma Police obtained an arrest warrant for Javon Davis for over 30 counts of Simple Burglary. On 9-19-18 shortly before 3pm, Houma Police received information that Javon Davis was in the area of St. Joseph Street. Taking this into consideration, Houma Police patrolled the area and successfully located Javon Davis. He was taken into custody without incident and cooperated with law enforcement. During his apprehension, Davis was located to be in possession of marijuana At the conclusion of this investigation, Javon Davis was arrested per warrant for Simple Burglary, as well Possession of SCH I (marijuana). He was transported to the jail where he was book accordingly. September 20, 2018 On 9-19-18 at 1730 hrs., Houma Police received a complaint at Thibodaux Regional hospital of female in her 30’s who stated she was sexually assaulted in Houma. During the investigation, Houma Police were able to ascertain information that the victim was given illegal drugs and forced to have sex with various males for money and narcotics. The victim identified the suspects as Dale Lirette Jr.-29 yrs. old of Raceland, Ashley Nicole Boudreaux-33 yrs. old of Labadieville and Dayna Nicole Thibodeaux-32 yrs. old of Houma. As the investigation continued, Houma Police learned the victim was friends with Ashley Boudreaux when she encountered Dale Lirette and Dayna Thibodeaux at a Houma motel. During the encounter, Boudreaux befriended the victim. Boudreaux, along with Lirette and Thibodeaux then fed the victim illegal narcotics and transported her to various locations throughout the city limits of Houma, as well as other jurisdictions to have sex with men for money and drugs for a period of 3-5 days. Afterwards, the suspects dropped the victim off at a convenience store in Lafourche Parish where she ended up being transported the hospital. As the investigation continued, Houma Police detectives learned the suspects were traveling in a red Durango and possibly in the Houma/Thibodaux area. Taking this into consideration, Houma Police located a vehicle matching the description and successfully apprehended all three suspects who cooperated with law enforcement. At the conclusion of the investigation Dale Lirette Jr, Ashley Nicole Boudreaux and Dayna Nicole Thibodeaux were arrested for Human Trafficking. They were transported to the jail to be booked on the aforementioned charges. Houma Police also learned Dale Lirette Jr had an outstanding warrant through Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for Contempt of Court and he was booked accordingly. News Release Document September 13th, 2018 On September 10, 2018 at approximately 6:44a.m. the Houma Police Department along with the Houma Fire Department responded to a commercial storage building that was on fire in the 400 block of Grand Caillou Rd. Upon arrival the fire was extinguished by the Houma Fire Department and the building sustained moderate damage. Further investigation revealed that the fire had been intentionally set and officially was ruled arson. Investigators from the Houma Fire Department, State Fire Marshal and the Houma Police Department began an in depth investigation of the fire. On 9-11-18 the Houma Police Department identified the person responsible for the fire as Alan Lancaster 48 years of age. Shortly after 7:00a.m. Members of the Houma Police Department uniform car patrol division located and took Lancaster into custody without incident. As a result of the investigation Lancaster was booked with one count of simple arson Sgt. News Release Document September 10th, 2018 On September 7th, 2018 at approximately 8:13 p.m., the Houma Police Department responded to the 9000 Block of East Main Street in reference to a Pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival officers found that a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by a 34year old Blake Chastant was approaching the intersection of Main and Presquile Isle when a female whom was identified as Kylie Toups 19 years of age was attempting to cross the roadway. The vehicle then struck Toups as she was in the southbound lane still crossing the roadway into the parking lot of the Royal Flush Casino. Toups was then transported via ambulance to a local medical facility where she was pronounced dead as result of her injuries. Chastant submitted to a breathalyzer and showed a result of .000 grams percent indicating that he did not have alcohol in his system at the time of the crash At the present time there have been no citations issued and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. September 10, 2018 On 9-9-18 shortly after 9am Houma Police responded to the area of Danie Turner Trailer Court in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officer spoke to witnesses who stated Christopher Rice-27 yrs. old of Daniel Turner Trailer Court, was involved in an altercation with another male. During the altercation, it was reported Rice pulled a weapon from his waistband and fired several times at the victim striking a vehicle and a residence. As the investigation continued, Houma Police learned a 3-yr. old child was in the residence that was struck, but was unharmed. Officers also learned that the victim managed to escape the incident without being injured. After interviewing witnesses Houma Police obtained arrest warrants on Christopher Rice for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. On this date shortly after 1am, Houma Police located Christopher Rice at a local motel and took him into custody without incident. He was immediately transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex to be booked and jailed to await bond or court.
