SAFETY ALERT We received a report that a parent located a nail partially inside of a mini Hershey's candy bar after trick-or-treating in Oak Bluffs last night. The nail punctured the wrapper and was partially sticking out. Please check your children's candy thoroughly. The parent believes the candy bar was possibly obtained from a side street off Vineyard Ave. If you know of any houses that were giving out mini Hershey's bars last night in the area of Vineyard Ave, or find anything suspicious in your children's candy, please contact us. Halloween is underway in Oak Bluffs!

McKinley "Mac" Starks was an employee of the Oak Bluffs Highway Department who assisted with custodial duties at the Oak Bluffs police station. He will be greatly missed.

Special Officer Maliff stopped by the Oak Bluffs School today during field training. This is the only chair he could find!

HALLOWEEN NIGHT ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION Vineyard Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight from Dukes County Avenue to Norris Avenue for trick-or-treating and Halloween festivities. Intersecting side streets to include Winthrop Avenue, Shawmut Avenue, Franklin Avenue, Franklin Street Extension, Perkins Avenue and Pacific Avenue will be blocked with barriers at Vineyard Avenue to prevent vehicles from entering during the road closure. Please have a safe night and contact us if you need assistance!
