A terrific turnout for the annual Memorial Day Parade and a great job by all the participants!!

The Memorial Day Parade is on Monday, May 28, 2018, at 1:30pm. The parade will follow the normal route from NSCC to Washington St, Broad St, Market St, City Hall Sq, North Common St to Park St and eventually onto Boston St finishing at Pine Grove Cemetery. There will be some temporary road closures and traffic delays during the parade. There will be parking restrictions on Park St and sections of Boston St. Please seek alternate routes if possible. Have a safe weekend!!

Traffic Alert for Thursday May 17, 2018: Central Sq will be closed to all traffic from 5:00pm until approximately 8:00pm Thursday night for an art exhibit. There will be parking restrictions in place on both sides of Central Sq beginning at 4:00pm. Please seek alternate routes.

The IRS is warning of a scam aimed at international taxpayers and non-resident aliens. The scam involves a phony W-8BEN form used to obtain personal and banking information from the victim. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION! See the attached from the IRS.

LPD Drug Task Force, Boston PD, and Mass State Police executed a search warrant today, made two arrests and seized large amounts of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and cash.

SCAM ALERT!!! Please be aware of a scam with suspects calling local businesses and posing as National Grid. They are demanding payment for delinquent electric bills and threatening to turn off the electricity. Although National Grid does make calls on delinquent accounts they NEVER ask for payments in the form of pre-paid cash cards or gift cards. NEVER MAKE THESE PAYMENTS WITH PRE-PAID CARDS and when in doubt call National Grid directly!!!!

Traffic Alert for TUESDAY, MAY 1, 2018: Due to the annual May Day March there may be some minor traffic delays in the areas of City Hall Sq, Central Ave, Munroe St, and Market St. beginning at approximately 6:30pm. Please seek alternate routes if possible.

There has been an increase in the number of ATV's and dirt bikes operating on the public ways in Lynn. Mass General Laws prohibit the operation of these vehicles on public ways. The Lynn Police Department recognizes that some of these vehicles are being operated in an unsafe manner and pose a threat to public safety. We have stepped up our enforcement action with regards to these operators and are asking for the public's help in locating these vehicles. Anyone with information about the operators, where the groups are congregating or where the vehicles are being garaged can contact the department at 781-595-2000. LPD Drug Task Force detectives executed two search warrants which resulted in two arrests and the seizure of heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, and over 27k in cash.

LPD officers joined officers from across the country in Yarmouth to pay their final respects to K-9 Sergeant Sean Gannon.

Lynn Police are trying to identify this suspect who robbed a store on 4/10/18. The suspect threatened the clerk with a hypodermic needle filled with what appeared to be blood.
