While we appreciate the arts, and an artists right to express themselves, its a crime to deface, tag, and destroy other people' property. This budding artist decided to use the First American Insurance Agency sign, on Front St, as his canvas. BUT, he did not stop there. He also used St Stans School, and the Corner Store for his attempts at works of art. This all happened on October 31st, in the early morning hours. Do you possibly know this person? If so, we would love to encourage him to use a different venue for his passion. And, all kidding aside, this is a crime. And a felony. If you do recognize him, please, call us at (413)594-1740, and reference case 5118. Ofc Michael Wilk, PIO Chicopee Police Department Western Mass News WWLP-22News City of Chicopee - Mayor's Office

**CRUISER CRASH RESULTS IN 2nd OUI ARREST** October 31st, 9:40pm, Ofc Ryan Moran was on a motor vehicle stop in the area of 1091 Chicopee St. While in the cruiser, which was fully illuminated with all emergency lights, he felt and heard a crash, and was immediately thrown forward into the steering wheel. As he assessed what had happened, he realized he had been struck from behind from another vehicle. Ofc Moran did have injuries, but, his focus was on the vehicle he had stopped, as he was concerned it was struck, and he knew there were young children in the car. He exited, and realized that the vehicle had not been struck. He then turned his attention to the vehicle and operator that struck him. He then realized the vehicles engine compartment had started on fire, and he was able to extinguish the fire. The operator, upon exiting the vehicle, stumbled and nearly fell over. Ofc Moran asked if she was ok, to which she replied yes, and "Oh my God, how did this happen." Ofc Moran escorted her out of the road, and asked her how she managed to crash into the cruiser. She stated she was trying to pass another car, and "clipped" the corner. Ofc Moran explained her vehicle was the only one on the road at the time of the crash. She then stated she "barely" hit anything. It should be noted, the NIssan Altima she was driving was badly damaged, and the police cruiser was badly damaged. At this point, Ofc Moran detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her mouth. She could not answer simple questions, and had semi slurred speech. At this time, Sgt Patrick Hurst arrived. He then conducted the investigation, including sobriety tests. As a result, the operator was placed under arrest. Charges and information are as follows: MELISSA PARADYSZ, 37yoa 102 Skeele St Chicopee, MA 01013 -OUI Liquor, 2nd offense -Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle -Marked Lanes Violation -Possession of an open container of alcohol in an MV While inventorying the vehicle to be towed, a water bottle, filled 1/2-1/3rd full with alcoholic beverage in it was located. She was transported and processed at our PD. Her breathalyzer results were around 3x the legal limit. She was held on $540 bail, and will be arraigned in Chicopee Court today. Ofc Moran suffered some injuries as a result of her crashing into the car, but, will be ok.
