East Longmeadow Police Department News

Good Afternoon, Unfortunately there have been car breaks in town. This has been an ongoing issue in multiple communities as well. We are doing our best to address the issue. The areas that have had recent car breaks are neighborhoods off of Maple St, Westwood Ave, and Vineland Ave. We recommend locking your vehicles as this is the best deterrent and all of the vehicles entered were unlocked. Posted below is one of the suspects and A golf cart that may have been used as transportation. ELPD wants to thank the resident who provided us with the images posted below. UPDATE-----UPDATE-------UPDATE------ The operator of the golf cart was identified and not involved in the car breaks. We are still looking to identify the suspect. If you have any further information or video surveillance please contact East Longmeadow Police Department- 413-525-5440

Palmer Paving will be performing the milling and leveling of Porter Road on Wednesday and Thursday next week (Oct 3rd and 4th). We will try and keep two-way traffic but delays should still be expected. Additionally, I wanted to take this oppurtunity to remind and/or inform everyone that Maple Street, from Westwood to Dwight Road, will be closed to through traffic October 1st through the 5th to facilitate construction at the Maple Street/Dwight Road intersection. A detour will be set up utilizing Fairhaven Drive, Norden Street, Marshall Street, Chestnut Street and Benton Drive. Please seek an alternate route if you are able to do so.

An amazing tribute! Thanks to all involved. #OfficerAlex
