This afternoon, Oct. 3 at 2:18 p.m., the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission will conduct a nationwide test of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) and the Emergency Alert System (EAS). This is a federal test of these systems. The WEA portion of the test commences at 2:18 p.m. EDT, and the EAS portion follows at 2:20 p.m. EDT. The WEA test message will be sent to cell phones that are connected to wireless providers participating in WEA. This is the fourth EAS nationwide test and the first national WEA test. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of national emergency or disaster messages and determine whether technological improvements are needed. The message will come across with the heading “Presidential Message” and will read “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” For more information on this federal testing, https://www.mass.gov/news/national-test-of-the-emergency-alert-system-eas-and-wireless-emergency-alerts-wea-on-october-3

One of my favorite post from a couple of years ago. Hope you enjoy... The kids are all nervous. The parents think it’s cool. Today is the day The kids go back to school. So when you’re out driving, Please pay attention. 20 MPH in a school zone Is not a suggestion. Watch out for kids walking, biking, And waiting for the bus. If you’re not careful, You’ll get to meet us. It’s nothing personal. We have a job to do: Keep our kids safe, The “Boys in Blue.”-Chief Hastings

If you were in the area of Palmer Road and Meadowbrook Acres today around 3:00pm and think you may have seen something please contact the Brimfield Police Department... https://www.facebook.com/1605064009783889/posts/2001728753450744/
