Walpole Police Department News

***SCAM ALERT*** Someone is posing as a member of the Saint Mary’s church, and is emailing out requests for donations. They are asking people to buy gift cards, take pictures of them, and email them back the pictures. Some victims are suggesting they bring the cards down to the church personally, but the “pastor” is claiming he is “too busy” so to just email them. This is a scam, please don’t fall for it. In addition, a good rule of thumb to avoid scams is never wire money or take pictures of gift cards for anyone. Every single internet scam I have ever seen involves money wires or gift cards. If you ever have a doubt about something like this, please bring it to our attention and we will help you sort it out.

***NOTICE***

Today Chief Carmichael, Deputy Chief Mackenzie, SRO Hart, and Rebel stopped by the high school to present Erin Ledwith with a positive ticket for displaying good sportsmanship. Erin’s soccer season recently came to an end and on the way home from the last game she presented all her teammates with cards to show how much she appreciated them. We could all learn a thing or two from this young lady!! Way to go Erin!!!

**Monkey Update** Today we received an anonymous package, from a generous donor, containing the same monkey that went missing. Although it’s not the original, what could convince a little girl to accept it more than having it hand delivered by the Chief. So here you have it, members of the department went and visited Eleanor and brought her a new monkey as well as a few trinkets for her siblings Alex and Avery. A huge thanks to those who offered to replace the monkey and helped out by looking around.

The Walpole Police Department is hosting a 5 week RAD program involving our Senior Citizens. We had a great turnout of Seniors who signed up and are ready to learn some defensive moves from our awesome instructors. To those seniors that are in the class, please be advised that the RAD program will not meet on Monday November 12th in Remembrance of Veteran’s Day. RAD classes will resume on Monday November 19th. Below are some pictures of our first RAD class.

***See Update In Story Above*** Sending out an APB for a stuffed monkey named....Monkey. He’s 12 inches high, dark brown with tan coloring, long shady looking tail. Last seen on Sunday morning at the Rhoades Ave. entrance to Bird Park. Belongs to his owner, who is 3 and devastated by the loss of her friend. If anyone has seen him let us know.
