********UPDATE OWNER LOCATED********** Weymouth Police Animal Control is looking for the owner of this dog found today 10/12/18 near Bridge and North Sts. No tags and no chip. Any info contact ACO Parker at mparker@weymouth.ma.us or 781-335-1212.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY OCT 16,17,18 9 PM-5 AM (OVERNIGHT) Please be advised that Bridge Street (Rt 3A) at the Back River Bridge heading into Hingham will be closed in both directions during the evenings of Tuesday, October 16, 17 and 18, 2018 from 9pm-5am all three nights. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are conducting cleanup activities at the former Hingham Naval Ammo Depot. During these dates, the cleanup will be focused on the North Pier which requires the Back River Bridge to be shut down to allow for safe operations. Detour signs will be posted in Hingham and Weymouth. The MBTA has been notified and is adjusting bus routes accordingly (please contact the MBTA for questions regarding bus routes). Please plan accordingly.

Several of our officers ran in the 2018 Tunnel to Towers run in New York over this past weekend in honor of Sgt. Michael Chesna.

We would like to thank the Weymouth Eagles for their continued support. The president of the fraternal order Weymouth Eagles Brian Duane came to the police station and gave a generous donation to the Chesna Family fund. The Weymouth Eagles and Brian Duane are also a strong supporter of the Junior Police Academy.

We are trying to identify this person who is wanted for questioning in a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and larceny of a purse that occurred on 9/24/18 in the 900 block of Washington Street. Lt. Rick Abbadessa and Officer Manish Moideen stopped by Brady’s lemonade stand Friday. Brady and his friends were raising money to help find a cure for Diabetes. They had a lemonade stand Friday to help raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Great job kids!!!

Several of our WPD Officers climbed to the summit of Mount Washington today in honor of Sgt. Michael Chesna with dozens of other police officers during the annual Officer Sean Collier "Hike to Remember".

Louis Antonellis and David O'Laughlin from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers stopped by the station today with a generous donation for the Chesna Family Fund. Thank you IBEW!!

We were extremely proud and honored to be a part of the Weymouth High School Wildcat Football team’s opening ceremonies on Friday night. Great job Weymouth Wildcats. You are a class act and you should be very proud. Go Wildcats!! Special thanks to the Plymouth North Football team who took time out of their warm ups to meet and shake hands with all of the Weymouth police officers. Thank you for being part of this very special opening ceremony. Your school and community should be very proud of you all.

Weymouth Police Animal Control is attempting to locate the owner of this dog. Dog was located on Columbian St on Sunday September 02, 2018 and taken to the MSPCA in Boston.
