To the residents of Pembroke and many travelers upon our roads, You may have noticed Mass DOT has begun working on the Route 53 Washington Street and Pleasant Street Traffic Light Project. After many years of planning and deliberation the solution to the daily back up of traffic at this busy intersection is finally happening. For the few remaining weeks we have left before winter contractor PA Landers will begin tackling the side work needed in order to widen the road and move utilities. We anticipate maintaining 2-way traffic with minimal delays during this stage of the project. As always, please drive safe and please take extra care when traveling through the work zones. Thank you, Chief Richard Wall
