Recently the Rockland Police has received reports of a phone/computer scam. “Technicians” will call unsuspecting people claiming there are problems with a computer and ask questions about computer info such as passwords and account numbers. Once the “work” is completed they are asking for payment in the form of iTunes gift cards. The scammer will threaten to hold then computer information hostage until payment is received. Please do not give out any personal information over the phone and do not make the payments that are being requested. If you are having problems with your computer we strongly suggest you reach out to known professionals, not random people who call you.

Great News!!!! The Rockland Police phone lines are back up and running. As a reminder, the Non-Emergency Line is 781-871-3890 or 781-871-3891. The Emergency line is 781-878-1212 or 911. We thank everyone for their patience.

The Rockland Police has recently received reports of counterfeit $20 bills being passed around. The bills have been clearly marked “Motion Picture Use Only”. Please check your money when receiving change from businesses or if accepting money from individuals. Please contact the Rockland Police with any issues.

The Rockland Police will be conducting training exercises on Wednesday October 10th and Thursday October 11th at the following locations: The Lincoln School (Corner of Church and Howard) The Rockland Recycle Center on Beech St. The times for this training is 3pm-7pm on both days. There will be live fire while at the Recycle Center and should occur between the times of 5p-7p.

The Rockland Police Department will be sponsoring a blood drive for Boston Children’s Hospital this upcoming Saturday August 4th from 10am-4pm at the Rockland Police Station locates at 490 Market St. Rockland Ma.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the men and women of the Weymouth Police Department as they mourn the loss of Sergeant Michael Chesna, a 6 year Veteran of the Weymouth Police Department. We are also thinking of the family of Sgt. Chesna as well.

Just this week in Rockland we have had at least 2 incidents reported to the Rockland Police Department of this happening. Please be cautious when sending any money through the mail or internet.

Rockland Kiwanis Bike Safety Rodeo that was scheduled for this Saturday May 12th from 9am-1pm in the Rockland High School parking lot has been postponed due to forecasted bad weather. We will post the new date as soon as it is available.
