Press Release: June 26, 2018 ​ On June 19, 2018, at approximately 0944 hours, Radek Kocek, 50, of 438 Elm Street, North Berwick, Maine, was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault following a complaint at a local hotel. Radek was able to post the required bail amount and was later released from Wells Police custody. Radek is scheduled to appear at York District court on July 17, 2018, at 0815 hours. On June 20, 2018, at approximately 1118 hours, James Young, 69, of 23 College Dr. Apt. #26B, Wells, Maine, was summonsed for Failing to Notify of Motor Vehicle Accident following a complaint of a hit and run motor vehicle collision in the area of College Drive. James is scheduled to appear at York District Court on August 21, 2018, at 0815 hours. On June 23, 2018, at approximately 1431 hours, Syed Ali, 28, of 8 First Street, Berwick, Maine, was summonsed for Attaching False Plates following a traffic stop on North Berwick Road. Syed is scheduled to appear at York District Court on August 21, 2018, at 0815 hours.

Camp POSTCARD 2018! Camp POSTCARD (Police Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams) is a free week-long program for Maine kids. Counselors are volunteer Police Officers from across Maine. Sheriffs, Troopers and Municipal Officers all come together to mentor and encourage kids while improving their perceptions of law enforcement. Camp POSTCARD is celebrating its 25th birthday in 2018! Every year Sgt Arrowsmith and retired Cpl Roger Green volunteer their time at Camp POSTCARD to make a difference in the life of the children who attend. It is an amazing opportunity that provides unique experiences and helps create lasting positive memories. You too can help with Camp POSTCARD. Wells Public Library Celebrates Expansion with Grand Opening Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, June 16th, the Wells Public Library located at 1434 Post Road will celebrate the opening of their new wing with a Grand Opening Dedication Ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until the library closes at 1 p.m

This spruce tree coming down is bitter sweet for sure. It shows progress but was a staple in our community for some time. We just wanted to show the progress leading to the ground breaking ceremony Tuesday June 19th at 10:00 am.

We are breaking ground!!! Please join us next Tuesday.

The Special Olympics Torch Run came through Wells today. Our officers, along with an officer from Connecticut, ran the approximate 7 mile portion through our town! Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run (for Special Olympics)
