*****Public Service Announcement***** ***Downed Power Line Safety*** With the high winds and storms over this past weekend, the Berrien County Area experienced lots of power outages, and downed lines. We would like to share one of our officers experiences as a reminder to use caution when around power lines. Officer Voytovick responded to a line down call on Saturday, while blocking off the surrounding area the line came in contact with a piece of metal and exploded. Everyone is OK and safe!! Let this serve as a reminder that power lines are very dangerous and you should never approach ANY LINE that is on the ground, weather it appears live or not. You should also never approach or touch any object that is tangled, or touching a power line weather it is on the ground or still suspended in the air. If you see any Downed or low hanging line call 911 immediately.

NBAS is closed Monday 22nd due to power outage.

On Saturday May 19, 2018, the US Coast Guard based out of Michigan City, IN held their annual open house. As in years past, they invited the City of New Buffalo Marine Division to attend, which we gladly obliged. Over the years, the NBPD Marine Division has worked closely with the USCG to keep the shores along Lake Michigan Safe. We have trained with them, and continue to do so in our quest to our make the lake shore the greatest vacation destination that it can be. We were able to display our Marine patrol boat, and the tow vehicle, which was a big hit. Our Marine Patrol will be utilized throughout the summer and at various events along lakefront. Look out for the gentlemen below and thank them for their service!

These are set to ease the flow of traffic, and ensure the safety of everyone.
