Lake Street is open again. Please drive safely and follow the posted speed limit.

Please remember to buckle up before you head out on the road. It's not just a good idea, it's the law in Michigan. October 21st through the 27th is National Teen Driver Safety Week. This week is intended to raise awareness of youth specific safety issues and efforts to help keep young people safe throughout the year!

The construction on Lake Street is coming along. Please be patient though, and remember that Lake Street is still closed to through traffic until the project is completed. Officers will be monitoring this area and contacting violators.

October is breast cancer awareness month. Sand Lake officers will be sporting a pink badge this month to help bring awareness.

This program has been highly successful in other west Michigan counties. Therapy dogs can go a long way toward providing reassurance or perceived reassurance to children who have been crime victims.

This friendly cat recently appeared in the south east section of the village without any identifying tags or owner information. Feel free to comment if you know who he belongs to.

**Attention** Lake Street Between Fifth Street and Third Street “Northland Dr” is now closed for reconstruction. Dean’s excavating is on the job, so be careful if driving in the area.

Does anyone know who’s dog this is. It’s been running around town for awhile now. Has a black collar but won’t let us approach it. Please let us know thank you.

Officer DeLobel and Firefighter Hardenberg had a chance to talk with lots of local kiddo's about​ our police and fire departments and the many aspects of public safety! In Ensley, a lot of you showed your community support by running while the Newaygo County Sheriffs Office made sure everyone involved was completely safe. They also had some nice equipment on display! This is a special community because of each and every one of you!
