Update: She has been found. The missaukee County Sheriff's Office is actively looking for a missing dementia patient. The 81 old female walked away from a residence in the 6000 block of South Call Road McBain, shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday September 1st. She was last seen wearing a black top, black slacks, and Tennis Shoes, she is 5 foot 6 with shoulder-length gray hair. If the public has any information or sees her they are asked call either 911 or 231-839-4338.

We have received multiple calls again regarding the "IRS phone calls". This is a scam. Unfortunately law enforcement can do little to help stop these. Protect yourselves and your personal information. Please remind elderly family members and/or neighbors to never give any personal information over the phone to anyone.

Be safe and enjoy the holiday!

2018 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week The second week of April is recognized each year as “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week”, bringing well deserved attention and recognition to the public safety dispatchers who are an invaluable part of the emergency response team. Assuring rapid response by police, fire, and medical personnel in the midst of emergencies, the men and women who take 911 calls and send assistance are often overlooked for the critical role that they play in coordinating first response and lifesaving efforts. The Missaukee County 911-Dispatchers respond quickly to unexpected emergencies, every single day. They play a crucial role in the lifesaving process, providing an invaluable connection between emergency services and the people who need them. Our 911-Dispatchers process emergent and non-emergent requests and calls and dispatch for the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, DNR Law Division, as well as the Missaukee County EMS Department and six (6) township Fire Departments in the county. Telecommunicators Week began in California in 1981 and quickly grew to become a national week of recognition. Just ten years later, Congress officially designated the second week of each April as a time to remember the critical role that dispatchers play in keeping us all safe.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We tip our hats to each and every one. They are truly the Voice Behind the Badge and the Voice Within the Trenches. Thank you for your service.

Corrections Officer Kolby and Dispatcher Becky are braving the cold! Let's help them reach their goal! Way to go Kolby and Becky!! (p.s. can't wait to see the costumes!)

Please celebrate responsibly!

Once again, the gifts are loaded up and ready to go to Autumnwood in McBain! Our goal is to give a gift to every resident of Autumnwood who would like a visit from Santa. Santa (Ed Nettle) and Mrs Claus (Julie Anderson) are ready to make the trek with elves (Becky Kosloski and Ann Schryer). Also along to help out are U/S Wil Yancer and our very own Sheriff Bosscher. This annual tradition has been happening since 2004 through the fundraising efforts and donations given by the employees of the Missaukee County Sheriff's Office.
