Shelby Township Police Department News

Hey, Team, the OHSP OWI Enforcement Grant is is in full swing...numerous additional traffic officers will be on duty looking for drunk drivers through the holidays. Remember... Uber and Lyft are cheap and attorneys are expensive. Don’t let US give you a ride!

Check out the new Straight Talk with Chief Shelide. This month he speaks with traffic bureau commander Lt. Jeff Daniel, and we get to ride along with traffic's own Officer Phelps.

Our friend and member of #TeamShelby, Christie, sent us a picture of her little with Officer Gammicchia and Officer Washburn, who they ran into at Bigby's. Christie said that her daughter was so excited to see "celebrities", she had to get a picture with them. Thanks, Christie!

Aside from the fact that selfies in a moving car are dumb......We'll see you before you see us! Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Team.

We love getting a chance to interact with the kids in our community....from Officer Sorbo greeting kids at Switzer to Officer Hansen hanging out at Duncan Dash or Officer Leslie working with Malow and Ike NJHS and Key Club at shred day....we all work better when we work together!

Thanks to our new friend, “Stitch”, who I met today during our annual shred day. He was here on his Harley, not to shred, but to visit our 911 memorial and to remember the fallen. Thank you for what you do, Brother. -L. #TourOfHonor #RideToRemember

It’s Shred Day, Team!!! Get down here!!! 🎉🎊🎉

We’ve had two of these signs posted in front of our police department for a couple of years. We thought it was worth mentioning again that they are out there for your use. Exchange your internet purchases here...bad guys don’t like to come to the police station to commit crime.

We just completed department-wide training for single officer response to active shooter. This builds on our previous training and reinforces the fact that should anyone attempt to visit violence upon our children they will be met with a quick and decisive response.

Far too many leave us far too soon. Please, if you are struggling with thoughts of suicide, or know someone who is....talk about it. There IS help. There IS hope. National Suicide Prevention LifeLine 1-800-273-TALK (8255) Crisis Text CNQR to 741-741 http://ow.ly/cKaB30mgYFH

Officer Chris Killop was invited to the Aurora Park Pumpkin Patch Parade this weekend. We just got these pics from our friends there. It looks like he made a couple new friends AND tried to abduct Firefighter Manka. (We’ll take her, but you have to take the goat back, Chris.)

Thanks to Blake’s and Lara from Helping Hands Gifts for bringing us what is probably the single largest box of donuts we have ever seen. We would be lying if we said this wasn’t the perfect gift. 🤣 #PowerRingsForDays

Officer Leslie is spending time with our family at Holy Martyrs Chaldean Catholic Church tonite talking about the opiate epidemic with Judge Linda Davis And Peter’s Angels. A packed house gives us hope that we can help stop this monster from killing our kids.

This guy keeps trying to recruit Officer Simpson. Seriously, Darth....we aren’t coming to the dark side, even if you DO have cookies..

Fueling up for a big day around the Twp! We’ll be at FD’s open house all day, and at Riverbends Trunk or Treat Spooktacular until 2pm. Get out there and enjoy Shelby Twp., Team!!
