In honor we remember all those who sacrificed and lost their lives that day.

On behalf of the Zeeland Police Department we would like to welcome back all the students! We hope you have a safe and wonderful year! Here are a few tips to help keep you safe.

Over the holiday weekend we had several vehicles broken in to in the city. Once again we would like to remind you to please lock your cars, garages and residences. We would also request that if you need to make a report please either call 911 or 1-800-249-0911 so an officer can contact you right away. If you leave a message on the answering machine it won't get answered right away. We want to provide the best service possible and would like to take complaints as they come in not 3 or 4 days later. We also request for you to report any suspicious activities throughout the night. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for “Corn on a Cop!” It was great to see all of you and we did not even have one ear of 🌽 corn left!

***SCAM ALERT**** Please be aware there is a Craigslist Scam that has been going on that we have taken complaints on. Here's how it works: You post something for sale. Someone contacts you about purchasing the item significantly more than the asking price, but requests that you deposit some money in your account for them so that you can pay the person picking the item up. They then request you get a money order or money graham and send the money to the person requested. You later find out your account is overdrawn and the check was fake. Please use caution when using Craigslist.

85 years ago today on July 18th 1933, Zeeland Police Marshal William Glerum died of his injuries from a vehicle pursuit. Today we take a moment to remember his service. Ofc. Glerum's memorial page has more information: http://www.odmp.org/officer/printview/5500-marshal-william-glerum
