The recommended time for Trick or Treating in the City of Gibraltar will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Halloween October 31st.

Gibraltar Police Department participated in the Trunk or Treat at the Michigan State Police post in Taylor today. A great afternoon for all the families and local departments that participated!

Saturday, October 13th is the start of duck season. Early morning boat traffic and the sound of gun shots at dawn and dusk are to expected.

The Carlson Homecoming Parade is today and will start at 5:00 pm. The parade route will be from the Gibraltar Community Center and will travel along South Gibraltar Road and end at Carlson High School. Minor traffic delays may occur.

Report of multiple power lines down and trees uprooted. DTE has been notified and are enroute. Gibraltar Fire, Police and DPW are accessing the damage. Please stay away from downed power lines.

TORNADO WARNING ISSUED FOR WAYNE COUNTY UNTIL 930 PM. SIRENS HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED.

The City of Gibraltar is experiencing a power outage due to the high winds. DTE has advised that they expect to have the power restored by 6:00 pm tonight.

NOAA has extended the Lake Shore Flood Advisory until 10:00 am Monday morning. Strong North East winds will push lake levels to 70" above low water datum. Gibraltar Police Department will activate the warning siren if 73" is reached.

NOAA has issued a Flood Advisory for the City of Gibraltar unitil 09-09-18 0400 HRS. Early computer models have the water level rising to 66" above Low Water Datum. Minor street flooding is to be expected.

The City of Gibraltar 9 mins · ... Boil water advisory update. We have received an all clear from the lab regarding all water samples. The boil water advisory has been lifted effective 8-2-2018 @ 9:33 a.m.- Gibraltar DPW.

Update- Repairs to the broken water main continue. The extent of the pipe fracture is significant and will require extensive repair. The existing emergency water feed from Trenton is maintaining pressure at 40 psi, citywide. Please limit water usage until the repair is complete especially during the morning hours. Once the main feed has been repaired, testing must take place throughout the City to insure water is safe to consume. Testing procedures take approximately 48 hours from the first sample collection. As a result, it is unlikely that the boil water advisory will be lifted until late Wednesday or early Thursday. If using tap water for showering or bathing, be careful to not swallow any water. The City recommends using bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, etc. Should you have any questions, please contact the City of Gibraltar DPW Department at 734-676-3900. Due to the recent water main break and loss of water pressure the City of Gibraltar has issued a boil water advisory until further notice. The time of repair is undetermined.

NOAA has issued a Lakeshore Flood Advisory from 2:00 pm Friday until 4:00 am Saturday with a peak of 68" above low water datum. Rain is also in the forcast during the above time period. Minor street flooding is to be expected. NO WAKE through standing water.
